Two by the Sea: April 2013

http://twobythesea.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 21, 2013. Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. After a fun day at the Shaws in Orange, NSW we made our way to Phillip Shaw's. Home/winery. Mindi climbed through a window as the key wasn't where it was supposed to be. She opened the door to a massive tasting room. Much to our surprise an elderly Irish Setter was in residence. She was very friendly but a little agitated. We were hesitant to let her out as it was pitch dark and who knew what lurked out there. We packed up and headed back to the Sha...

Sunday, June 2, 2013. The agreement was that the agent would meet me "on site" for a $44.AU fee. Since I didn't have a car I agreed. I noticed that I wasn't charged for this. Looking toward Sydney Harbour. View from 7th floor studio on Oxford Street. Loved this building across the street. The lower level is foodie heaven! One of the more interesting buildings. Next door to my building was a beautiful shop Dinosaur Designs. It tasted like something a cat would eat. I had to remember these people eat v...

Two by the Sea: October 2013

http://twobythesea.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 14, 2013. We headed to downtown Ithaca for dinner and a walk around. The shops sell "Ithaca is Gorges" everything, the usual bumper stickers, tee shirts, hats , scarves, underwear and more. Drizzly rain and thunder prevailed but we didn't care. College towns tend to have reasonably priced menus too. A glass of excellent Grenache was only $4.50 compared to $9. out here. We grazed on five different little plates, which was one plate too many. Here is the current menu. Well the storm the pre...

Two by the Sea: July 2014

http://twobythesea.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 1, 2014. The Magic of Venezia! We had given them all of the coins we had but that wasn't enough apparently. Fortunately they had to get off the train before it left the station so they disappeared as quickly as they had appeared, without our luggage thankfully. This man looked like a Gypsy but did not demand any money. I was like, "prego, grazie, grazie mille" and off he went with a quick wave. The trains are really nice in Italy. Vilia on the lookout for snow! We found a cozy restaurant th...

http://brunchingwithtwobythesea.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Brunching with Two by the Sea. Sunday, June 3, 2012. Brunch for the Mothers. I know, Mother's Day is long past but I hosted four wonderful women and made some new dishes to share. My brunching for one isn't all that interesting most of the time. I dig out leftovers from the freezer and sip on an already opened bottle of bubbly which is usually tossed out after brunch is finished. Like this-. The menu consisted of Herb and Mixed Greens Frittata w. Brunch Salsa. Bobby Flay's Smoky Paprika Home Fries. My di...

Brunching with Two by the Sea. Saturday, May 28, 2011. Neither of us can sleep very well. Steve gets these coughing spasms and is up practically choking. I was so worried as they told him to rest 3-4 days and if he couldn’t breathe or was gasping, to get to the emergency room as the lung probably had collapsed. Great. We made it through the night and he seemed fine. 189; tsp. cinnamon. 1/8 tsp. nutmeg. 1/8 tsp. cardamon or allspice. 188; c. heavy cream. 4-6 slices good bread. In a large skillet, heat but...

Brunching with Two by the Sea: March 2011

http://brunchingwithtwobythesea.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Brunching with Two by the Sea. Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Post St. Patrick's day, Sunday March 20. I am almost corned beefed out. After three dinners last week plus facing the leftovers in my refrigerator I couldn’t bring myself to make hash today. Instead I brought back one of our favorites, a take on. I have posted this recipe "Baked Pesto Eggs in Ham Cups" on my Two by the Sea. Blog in April and June 2010. It worked very well in the little jars! Oven Baked Sweet Potato wedges. 2 sweet potatoes or yams.

Brunching with Two by the Sea. Wednesday, February 23, 2011. This is what I wrote about that brunch. January 17- Our first attempt at a real brunch! I looked up “Joe’s Special” San Francisco and sure enough there were several versions. The blandest is the one I am sure they made at Marin Joe’s but thankfully the one from Original Joe’s on Broadway was right up my alley. Of course I did embellish it a little. Here is the recipe off the internet:. 2 # Gr. Beef. 2 Med Onions, chopped. 1 ¼ tsp. salt. It was ...

Brunching with Two by the Sea. Sunday, April 24, 2011. Easter Brunching with Lobster! Well, here we are, Two by the Sea, brunching by ourselves. In my refrigerator sit two Maine Lobster Claws, leftover from our dinner in Santa Barbara a few nights ago. The best deal in town is at the Enterprise Fish Company. After searching a few websites I was inspired to make scrambled eggs with lobster. I typed up a preliminary recipe yesterday and hoped it would turn out good for our Easter Brunch. 4 dark yolked eggs.

Brunching with Two by the Sea: Christmas Hash and poached egg

http://brunchingwithtwobythesea.blogspot.com/2012/12/christmas-hash-and-poached-egg.html

Brunching with Two by the Sea. Sunday, December 23, 2012. Christmas Hash and poached egg. Packages are all, but one, on their way across the country and up and down the state of California. Cards are almost done. I managed to get my local friends gifts wrapped and under my little tree. I guess this will be my tree from now on. It used to reside in the kitchen as my little "beachy tree". Today I tidied up my dining room table to make room for my brunch. It was a "re-do" but a little different Chicken Hash...
