Beth’s One Little Word for 2017 | TWO WRITING TEACHERS
https://twowritingteachers.org/2017/01/03/beths-one-little-word-for-2017
A meeting place for a world of reflective writers. Beth’s One Little Word for 2017. Tuesday January 3, 2017. This week my coauthors and I participating in our little New Year’s tradition of choosing our One Little Words (OLW’s) for 2017. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really into it the first year (“grow”), or the second year (“patience”). But then last year, my OLW was. And you know what? Turned out to be a super successful OLW because it became a theme for my professional learning. But what about 2017? Here&...
Mission | TWO WRITING TEACHERS

A meeting place for a world of reflective writers. Good teaching is good teaching. Too often we get caught up in what’s happening in our own classroom walls or in the faculty lounge of our own school building. This blog is a place that erases all of those barriers and focuses simply on teaching kids to write and catching minds in the midst. It’s happening in cities, in suburbs, and in small towns all over the globe. For teachers to be fueled with a passion for teaching, writing, and living. I am an Itali...

A meeting place for a world of reflective writers. Friday February 17, 2017. Pausing to Reflect: Personal Essays. My third graders are wrapping up their unit on personal essay. While some have grasped the structure and have articulated reasons and examples to support their argument, others have struggled to understand the concept of an essay. I want to take some time to think about what went right when teaching this unit and where the breakdowns occurred. Friday February 3, 2017. Friday January 13, 2017.

Finding reward in the hard work of revision – Reflection Wall
https://reflectionwall.wordpress.com/2016/08/21/finding-reward-in-the-hard-work-of-revision
What's going on in this Wall's head about what's happening within the four walls of her high school English classroom. Finding reward in the hard work of revision. August 21, 2016. I’ve been thinking a lot about writing lately. Particularly revisions. While I’ve been thinking about this, one moment from when I was writing my dissertation and turning in draft after draft keeps coming to mind. The hard work, though, is the rewarding work. While my own experience made me more compassionate, it also made me ...

http://myreadingblog-jac.blogspot.com/2015/06/sol-62315-one-thing-that-im-going-to.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2015. SOL 6/23/15 - One Thing that I'm Going to Miss (Sometimes). While there are many things that I'll miss about living in our log home, there is one in particular that brings much enjoyment (sometimes) into our lives. We have an over abundance of wildlife in our area, especially the deer population which has grown to become a nuisance to many. I love to:. Watch them grazing across the yard. Lolling in the grass. Snorting at us, warning us to get away. Seeing them grow and mature.

My 3 year old. In Slice of Life. Asymp; 7 Comments. Three year old isn’t a baby anymore. “Mama I a big kid” he tells me with the most adorable grin. My three year old is the best big brother, always looking out for Noahs best interest. He shows the most sincere empathy when Noah is sad. Even made up a little song to keep Noah smiling. And it works every time. My three year old is intelligent. Knows his letters, numbers, shapes, can read a few words, and his problem solving skills amaze me. What a loveabl...

There isn't any secret. You sit down and you start and that's it." Elmore Leonard. Saturday, September 24, 2016. Be Political: Our Humanity Depends On It. The only read-aloud I have shared with every class of students I've taught is A Line in the Sand. Journey of a Reluctant Writer. I'm a 7th grade Language Arts teacher in Texas. I LOVE to read but find writing a challenge. This personal blog will be my journey into the writing world. One thing I'm learning is MY writing can be anything I want it to be. Don't come here expecting perfection. Come here knowing that I'm learning, so it won't be perfect. I'm okay with that. Gibz Chats: Thing #7C..Google Reading
http://gibzchats.blogspot.com/2008/11/thing-7cgoogle-reading.html
Sunday, November 30, 2008. Thing #7C.Google Reading. For this blog post I chose an article about Google Chrome. As oposed to Mozilla's Firefox. The writer preferred Google Chrome for it's speed and potential. I decided to try the same experiment and see if I agreed. I really have not been impressed with Firefox, but my teens love it. So I want to be fair and get more input from them before I just remove it from my life.haha! December 1, 2008 at 9:15 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my page on.

Friday, October 24, 2008. THING #11 Flickring Sailboats. Well I am Flickred out! I have been working on this Thing for 3 nights now.and I still am a little confused. Ok. More than a little. Confused. I see that you can upload your own photos. I understand that you can use other peoples photos with creative commons. I guess what is overwhelming is what do you do with all these photos. More importantly. Do you do it. So I still need to research that end of it. Especially after this assignment haha! So on t...

Friday, December 5, 2008. I was so impressed with Ning. I watched the video of the creator of Ning and was anxioius to tour the site. I started with Classroom 2.0. Wow! It's hard to believe that he only started it a little more than a year ago! Most applicable to us though was the sub-topic within that article; Implications for teaching and learning. I couldn't have said it better myself! So, there you have it.my final "Thing". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my page on. Make your own badge here.
