Lovin' Literature: April 2009

http://lovinliterature.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 24, 2009. My oldest son will be 5 next week. Last week we were driving down the road and we drove past a neighborhood waterpark. And of course he asked if we could go. I told him no, that it was still far too cold to go to waterpark. He got quiet for a few minutes and then responded, "Mom, do you know I have God in my heart? I was shocked. I said "What do you mean? Next he says, "But really mom! So I said to him, "I think you are going to need to be little order before. As best I could....

Lovin' Literature: A fresh start...

http://lovinliterature.blogspot.com/2010/09/fresh-start.html

Saturday, September 4, 2010. This was a great summer! I enjoyed time off, cuddling my boys, spending time with my hubby, and finding refuge at a church. I went into the summer with worry. What were we going to do about Adam's job? Would we have to relocate? How was I going to have a blast with my boys all summer with a budget of $0? We also had some excitement. With all that we had been through at church, what could God possibly have next for us? In Summer Spectacular ( VBS. Church planting pushes you to...

Lovin' Literature: March 2009

http://lovinliterature.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 28, 2009. So I have decided that I am going to transform this blog. I have always been terrible and journaling. And so I have been reluctant to blog. I mean who cares what I am thinking or what I have to say about life. But after increasing pressure I am giving in. I have this blog because I needed it for my children's literature class. I intend to still post book reviews some because. It was such a proud moment for me! So we get to go get X-rays which are still confusing because. They sa...

Friday, June 12, 2009. Torrential Rain and Sweet Prayers. Storm #2.meeting with the realtor. We have been trying to sell our house since December to no avail! We are overpriced and we know it and the housing market has dropped which would help when we get ready to buy but not sell! Our realtors are friends of ours and have been really great but today was tough! Probably a bad idea. Sell my first born? At times tempting. Let our house foreclose? That integrity thing gets me everytime. Any other ideas?

Saturday, May 22, 2010. I always love sappy girl movies. the ones that make you cry and all end up happily ever after.Lately I am dealing with too many endings I think. I have been stressed, grumpy, and hard to live with! My poor family. I guess its good being the only girl in our house at times like this. Another school year is winding down. Uganda Love This | Amy Scheel

A Roller Coaster Ride. August 25, 2016. I looked around the room at Jenipher, Rose, Twalib and Alyssa, the people I am lucky to call my family in Uganda, and couldn’t help but feel a wave of emotion at the pure look of defeat and exhaustion as everyone sat on the floor, dripping in sweat. Why was this happening again? Samaritan’s Purse team in Gulu. Echo training in Lira. Always a good day when Opio comes to visit. Chris, Ben, Alyssa and I on Lake Mburo! Teams Uganda, China, Brazil and USA. August 1, 2016.

Just another WordPress.com site. August 6, 2014 in Uncategorized. I met just this type of man this summer (and not just one, but many, many men and women with this same story). He had a farm in Africauntil one day his farm was taken away. I don’t mean that he sold it or was forced into selling it or even that had had to pack up and ship out without any monetary compensation. I mean it was taken from him. TAKEN! How can that be? How could anything ever be worth having everything taken away from you? Inste...

Uganda Malaria and Health Care Project. Why are we working in Uganda? Dave and Christine at work. Sub-Saharan Africa has only 11% of the world's population, but it has 24% of the disease burden, including 64% of the global population living with HIV. Despite these statistics, it has only 3% of the world's health care providers. Our goal is to work with the local hospital staff to improve the level of health care available in the Kisiizi area of southwestern Uganda. Donate to this Project.

Monday, November 10, 2014. And Now It's Time to Say Goodbye. It's been been about 3.5 months now we've been back in the US. On one hand it seems like forever (in a good way), but on the other hand I so dearly miss friends in Uganda it seems like just days since we left them. Jeremiah is loving school and feels so blessed to once again be a student here. Hadassah also loves her homeschooling and is getting closer every day to being a full fledged reader! After a bit of thought and prayer though, I believe...
