Walking In My Shoes. BIG SHOES, BIGGER ADVENTURES. July 19, 2012. I, Rama – Age of Seers : Book Review. I, Rama written by Ravi Venu follows for the most part in the latest trend of having first person narrative of popular mythology. It tries to reframe the narrative of Ramayana from being a battle between good and evil to that of a more complex, multi layered fight for ensuring survival on earth. It is meant to offer a view into the world as seen by Rama. This review is a part of the Book Reviews Program.

Walking In My Shoes. BIG SHOES, BIGGER ADVENTURES. Monthly Archives: June 2012. June 8, 2012. I walk, for love and for you, yet again. In this long, cold dreaded valley of pain. I walk alone, away from my wits that fell wayside. I walk as if the noon sun burned, and the tide went high. I walk for staying still hurts, on the inside more than out. I walk for in the crunch of leaves, the voices in my head drown out. I walk deep in hurt, wrapped in the pain of my own failings and,. A Rupee for Thoughts.

An occasional and possibly random attempt to write about writing, words, books, my fellow authors and what I've learned along the way. Sunday, 2 January 2011. Resolution v Commitment: 'What's the Difference' Anyway? But, this once, just now and in honour of the New Year, I did. Rewind (whirring sounds here) to one o'clock in the morning on the second of January. Last night. I woke and discovered that NPR's Prairie Home Companion was over and I'd missed 85% of it yet again (it comes on here from 1...For t...

Michele Regenold, Writing for Kids from the Boondocks. A blog about writing for children and the quest for publication. Thursday, October 13, 2005. Early this year I applied to the Vermont College MFA program in writing for children and was accepted. I could have started in July but deferred until January. I'd applied for a new job and wanted to wait and see what happened with that first. Plus I needed a break after taking a novel writing class at Iowa State last spring. Ordinarily I am hard to rattle.

Michele Regenold, Writing for Kids from the Boondocks. A blog about writing for children and the quest for publication. Monday, January 09, 2006. Got checked in okay and issued my sheets and towels. People had warned me that the dorm rooms were plain and simple. A better descriptor would be Army barracks. I kept expecting to hear drill sergeants shouting at me to get in formation. At lunch today the newbies had assigned seats with the faculty intermingled with us. I was seated between Liza Ketchum an...

Michele Regenold, Writing for Kids from the Boondocks. A blog about writing for children and the quest for publication. Wednesday, January 11, 2006. I did talk to him briefly about an idea for a nonfiction book- something that would incorporate memoir about moving around a lot with research about the impact of moving on kids along with interviews of kids. He didn't think a lot of publishers would be interested but said a few might. It would depend on how poignant the stories were. Using innovative resear...

Wearing Many Hats- A blog about being a writer, a mother, a teacher and an expat in Dubai. Sunday, February 1, 2009. I’ve done it. Well, no, I haven’t finished my manuscript, but I’ve made a discovery. It may not be anything new to many of you—but for me it ‘s big. I have made peace with the idea of plot. Plot is the driving force behind a novel. Otherwise it’s a series of vignettes with nothing tying them together. Something has to tie the threads of her West Bank experience together. And it has to ...

An occasional and possibly random attempt to write about writing, words, books, my fellow authors and what I've learned along the way. Wednesday, 29 December 2010. What on earth am I doing with a second blog.or is it really the third? Or a new beginning. So here goes. So, why another blog? I should congratulate myself. I was ahead of my time! It was fun (I loved it! A few months ago everything changed again. No, not another change in relationship for once. Indeed, my past writing has always been ...Sudde...
