http://spudrunning.blogspot.com/2004_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 31, 2004. Nice morning for it too. Still on holidays at the moment so it's nice to be able to stay in bed a little longer this week. I will write up a year in review post later. Happy New Year all! Posted by Spud @ 4:14 PM. Thursday, December 30, 2004. Took the bike out this morning for a hilly 80km ride. Looks like a trip to the bike shop is required. Checked the post box to find the new "glossy" UltraMag waiting for me, made for a nice breakfast read. Posted by Spud @ 1:35 PM. Sunday, ...

Spud's Blog: June 2005
http://spudrunning.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 30, 2005. Wet and windy tempo. 12:10pm- 8.06km (4:35/km). Was gonna go for a swim at lunchtime but decided a run in the rain would be more fun (turned out to be a bit of a swim anyhow). Ran to Riverview again and through the college there (not much off road running this week due to wet weather) and back to Lane Cove. Rained hard the whole time with a wicked gusty wind blowing, all making the run that much more exhilerating. Posted by Spud @ 1:45 PM. Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Ran from the o...

Spud's Blog: February 2005
http://spudrunning.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 28, 2005. Sunday- Opted to lie in this morning and give the STaR a miss. Got up at 7am with my 3 young girls bouncing on the bed. Wow 8.5 hrs sleep! Decided to hit the local roads for 20km. Donned the camelbak as my waistbelt bottle holder just isn't hacking these days. An undulating course, even more so over the second half. Ran the first 10km in 4:55/km pace and the second 10km in 4:45/km pace. So averaged 4:50/km for the 20km. Posted by Spud @ 8:14 AM. Saturday, February 26, 2005.

Spud's Blog: Great North Walk 100, 2011 Race Report
http://spudrunning.blogspot.com/2011/11/great-north-walk-100-2011-race-report.html
Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Great North Walk 100, 2011 Race Report. That however doesn’t take away from the brutality this course offers up every year. And those who enter unprepared usually succumb to the high attrition rate that goes hand in hand with this one. I was going to try a couple of different things this year. Firstly I had enlisted the help of a good mate who would crew for me. Looking at my CP times from my PB year where I had no crew, my total down time was simply too long. I co...Secondly ...

Spud's Blog: July 2005
http://spudrunning.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 30, 2005. 7:30am- Had planned on doing the CR5km challenge but after last night's dinner party, four bowls of pasta washed down with several glasses of red wine and a few beers to top it off, I was not feeling up to an early morning ride across the city. Instead I took to the local burbs for a 13km route I like to do every now and again. Riverstone to Schofields, Marsden Park return. I was not feeling too spritly on either rep, my lack of recent "structured" speedwork showing. 6:30am- Lane...

Ultrarunner fighting Atrial Fibrilation (AF). The heart problems all started back on May 25: http:/ howmanysleeps.blogspot.com/2011/05/out-of-hardrock.html. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Last week I went through pre-admissions in preparation for my ablation. This is the stuff you don't think about but important for anyone facing this process. Holy crap, I thought someone had fired up a bunsen burner and applied it to my scrotum! Back to the waiting room. Then the cardiology liaison coordinator (the lovely ...

Trail running trials and tribulations : Time for another run on the GNW
http://howmanysleeps.blogspot.com/2012/11/time-for-another-run-on-gnw.html
Ultrarunner fighting Atrial Fibrilation (AF). The heart problems all started back on May 25: http:/ howmanysleeps.blogspot.com/2011/05/out-of-hardrock.html. Monday, November 05, 2012. Time for another run on the GNW. Hard to believe but 12 months ago I had my ablation. 12 months. It could be a lifetime. And in fact that is pretty much the philosophy I have adopted since my ablation: I have been given a second chance and I set about making the most of it. In January I also swept the 2Bays race. Then i...
