Margaret-Ann and Johns Blog. Sunday, September 22, 2013. September 16th – Zurich, Toronto. Weather – overcast and warm. After a leisurely breakfast in the hotel restaurant, Margaret-Ann and John completed their packing, checked out of the hotel and caught a cab to the central train station for the short (10 minute) ride to Zurich’s Kloten Airport. Margaret-Ann and Johns Blog. Saturday, September 21, 2013. Europe 2013 - Day 8. August 30th – Kehl, Strasbourg. Weather – sunny and warm. The SS. Antoinette sailed overnight and docked in Kehl, Germany at 8:00 am Margaret-Ann and John boarded a bus at 8:30 and crossed the Rhine to Strasbourg. Margaret-Ann and Johns Blog. Monday, May 06, 2013. NOTL –- May, 2013. Early Wednesday morning, May 1st, Margaret-Ann and John left Brampton for the hour-and-a-half drive to Niagara-On-The-Lake for their annual spring trip to the Shaw Festival. They arrived just in time to check into the La Toscana di Carlotta. Margaret-Ann and John boarded a British Airways flight out of Toronto’s Pearson Airport at 7:30 pm (Aug. 22nd) and after a 7 hour flight, a 5 HOUR LAYOVER in London's Heathrow Airport and a final 1 hour flight to Schipol Airport touched down in Amsterdam around 3:00 pm (Aug. 23rd). Margaret-Ann and Johns Blog. Saturday, September 21, 2013. Europe 2013 – Day 9. August 31st – Breisach, Colmar. Weather – sunny and warm. The SS. Antoinette docked at Breisach, Germany at 3:00 am (Margaret-Ann and John were fast asleep). Right after breakfast they boarded a bus, crossed the Rhine and drove about thirty minutes through the rich farmland of the Alsace region of France to reach Colmar. Margaret-Ann and John had a quick breakfast in their room, checked out of the hotel (leaving their luggage stored there for later pick-up) and were at the Rijks Museum. Just after it opened at 9:00 am. They finished up by strolling through the grounds around the museum taking in the exhibition of Henry Moore sculptures. Tomorrow – Cologne. Antoinette sailed through the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal and entered the Rhine River proper, early in the morning. By breakfast, Margaret-Ann and John found themselves sailing past Dusseldorf and shortly after lunch left the ship in the small village of Zons to board a bus for a quick trip into Cologne.
