Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Jeff Wilpon and The Sports Media Have No Credibility Right Now, Why the Backlash on Minaya? Is there anyone out there that can explain to me why the backlash on Omar Minaya has been so harsh after he called out NY Daily News reporter at the Bernazard press conference the other day? I don't get it. I especially don't understand why Jeff Wilpon, son of NY Mets owner Fred Wilpon, felt the need to step forward and apologize to Rubin. If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones.

VFC's Book and Movie Review House. Sunday, June 13, 2010. Iron Man 2, Starring Robert Downey Junior, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow. They pulled out the big guns for Iron Man 2. Aside from Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow, two mainstays from the original, the cast of "2" throws Scarlett Johansson, Samuel Jackson and Mickey Rourke at us also. The additional star studded cast support a flowing, action packed story line that doesn't let up for the two hour duration of the movie. All in all...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Oh, Mr. Minaya, Just Bring Me a Bat! Enough is enough already. If the Mets have any intention of taking the division this year reinforcements need to come in. I'm not the impatient Mets fan that wants to trade away the future, but something has got to give. Minaya got Santana for a bunch of average minor leaguers. If the Mets want to fold and wait until next year, that's fine, too. As long as Minaya is gone when next year comes around. Quit keeping fans hanging on. I'm just as sur...

VFC's Book and Movie Review House. Sunday, July 3, 2011. Transformers 3 - Did It Live Up To The Hype? Not sure what to make of 'Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon' just yet. I can't help but feel like they tried to do too much this time. The first half of the movie was spent waiting for something to happen, then when it did, it was sensory overload. Did anyone really go to the theaters to see Sam look for a job? Weak plotline that killed the pace of the movie. Iron Hide getting whacked by Sentinel Prime?

VFC's Book and Movie Review House. Sunday, July 12, 2009. Confessions of a Shopaholic, Starring Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy and John Goodman. You read the title correctly, I really did watch this movie. That's what happens when you send wifey to pick out a movie for a Saturday night staying in. The movie is mildly entertaining. Wifey got a lot more of the shopping jokes than I did, naturally, but I found myself laughing quite a bit at Fisher's 5th avenue antics. Compared to other chick flicks I'll give this ...

VFC's Book and Movie Review House. Sunday, January 3, 2010. Movie Review: NINE, Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and Nicole Kidman. Of course this was a 'wifey pick', but the nearly two hours of running time and the star-studded cast was, for the most part, worth the time. That being said the movie was not fantastic, nor was it as good as the wife or I expected. While the movie did have it's slow spots, the overall flow of the story, great dramatic acting and some extravagant da...

VFC's SPORTS HOUSE: November 2009

Friday, November 20, 2009. The Mets' Offseason, Who's on the Radar? Why is this guy even on the Mets' radar? The guy is a number four starter - at best- if you consider his entire career and not just last year. In fact, it's only his performance last year that has elevated him to a possible four instead of a number five starter/mopup man in the pen. Friday, November 20, 2009. Links to this post. Wednesday, November 4, 2009. VFC's World Series Thoughts. You can't help but think that if it were the Mets in...
