Via Colori - The Artists

Any adult can sign up to be a Via Colori. Artist. There is no jurying of artists, and no competition to volunteer to be one. No themes for the drawings are formally announced, and there are only two rules governing the content of Via Colori squares: the works must be appropriate for public, family viewing; and no commercial messaging is allowed. The Via Colori licensing package and the training program provide proven methods and collateral materials for attracting volunteer artists.

The History of Street Painting. Street painting was first recorded in the 16th Century when itinerant artists would paint religious icons on the courtyards of the great Italian cathedrals. They would leave their chalk boxes open, in hopes that the pilgrims would show their appreciation for the work by leaving some coins. Each artist's large scale masterpiece is sponsored by a business or individual, and is created directly on the pavement of their closed-off city streets. Each festival is a signature fundraiser, conducted annually. Is licensable special event custom tailored for your agency and your city.
