The View from 50. Reflections of a fashionably fifty mom. All posts by Deb. New grand baby has arrived. November 30, 2013. I really had forgotten how small they are. It’s been nineteen years since my last baby arrived. My daughter is doing great with her too. I am very proud and quite impressed with how well things are going. I am hoping I can help around the house a little because she really has the whole mommy thing under control. I will continue with updates as I enjoy this special little girl. ItR...

The View from 50. Reflections of a fashionably fifty mom. Every Day is a Busy Day! September 28, 2013. I thought I might be a little lonely with the girls gone, but I am too busy to be lonely. Ali even came home last weekend, she wasn’t feeling well and managed to leave me her cold :( Thanks Ali! My new baby granddaughter arrived early Thursday N… →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Where everybody STILL loves Bitz. Sunday, April 7, 2013. B's lose, 2-1. Last night the B's could not overcome a few goofy bounces/deflections in Montreal and lost, 2-1. The Pandolfo era has to end, and may end soon with the return of Chris Kelly in a few days. He's just too slow out there, he is calcified. Has Peverley lost it, or just bad luck/bad linemates? Anyone else notice about 10% more jam to Krejci's game the past few weeks? Did someone steal his lunch from the fridge during morning skate? So jud...

I have found subjects for my photographs from the shorebirds of Louisiana's Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge and the cheniers on the Creole Nature Trail, to the aspens along the Silver Thread Scenic Byway and cliffs over Creede, Colorado. Click on a photograph or album to see background information, sometimes funny. Any of these photographs can be purchased in multiple sizes, on various products, and framed or unframed. They can also be purchased for commercial publication/stock use. David W. Clark. I love th...

8220;the chew” map. VAIL & BRECKENRIDGE. My Instagram (@LikeToKnow.It). August 14, 2015. I grew up being outside a lot playing soccer my whole life meant that my skin was usually getting beaten up all year around in Texas and especially during the summer. After 3 years in Chicago, I thought my skin had forgotten how to soak up the sun the way that it used to. This year I’ve been outside almost every weekend of the summer (woo hoo! And I’ve been using it on my arms and legs even when I go to work or...

The View From 72. Monday, February 4, 2013. On Gardens and Deer: Bureaucrats Run Wild. Two stories, one in the New York Times and one in the Wall Street Journal, got me thinking about my own yard, where a vegetable garden resides on the front lawn and the deer feel free to roam. In the first story my favorite food writer, the Times’ Mark Bittman, waxed indignant about the city of Orlando which is fining a couple $500 a day for planting a vegetable garden in the front of their home. Bureaucrats, town offi...

The View from H85
The View from H85. Thursday, September 1, 2011. Hurricane Irene and "Over-hyping". Lately I've been reading some things online and hearing stories on TV about how Irene was over-hyped and that it didn't live up to some "expectation". I am still struggling to understand why people are even talking about a disaster "living up to" some sort of standard or expectation. I guess if the media says so, then it must be true ("It's going to be bad! And then when it doesn't happen ("That wasn't bad at all! If you c...
