View from my Window. Learning to see through His eyes. Tuesday, January 17, 2012. It's the Little Things. Shortly after, I went to check the laundry and the load was still damp. The propane tank was out. Go figure. Thankfully our good friend came to the rescue and switched the tank out. So back to doing laundry with my headlamp. I felt like Tom Hanks dancing for joy in Castaway when he finally got the fire going. I too danced for joy, while my children laughed at me. I didn't care. Fire! This morning aft...

View from my Window: The Big Hike

http://viewfrommywindow-brandey.blogspot.com/2010/06/big-hike.html

View from my Window. Learning to see through His eyes. Monday, June 14, 2010. This summer I had an awesome opportunity to go on what is nicknamed, "The Death March". It's a 2 day hiking adventure covering 40 miles, no trail, no tent, light backpack(not even deodorant."it weighs too much") and lots of determination! It is led by a man who knows this area like the back of his hand and we are his little ducklings who rely on his navigation to get to our destination. So, into the plane we climbed, sweaty, sm...

http://viewfrommywindow-brandey.blogspot.com/2011/02/just-another-day.html

View from my Window. Learning to see through His eyes. Friday, February 4, 2011. The other day Carlon asked if I would like to accompany him while he checked the trapline. I nervously said yes. This may sound like a trivial task, but "checking the traps" means, getting in a ski plane and flying to the area (only about 8 min. away) and landing on a remote lake. February 5, 2011 at 2:46 PM. Reading your blog always makes me happy! I love you and miss you, Brandey! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://viewfrommywindow-brandey.blogspot.com/2010/06/jalapeno-bagels.html

View from my Window. Learning to see through His eyes. Thursday, June 10, 2010. It is summer and although school is out, we continue to work on some of the things the kids have learned so that all is not lost. In the mornings, we often have a time set aside, where the kids read or work on some math or write. It's a nice way to keep the boredom syndrome from hitting our household. Malea was reading a story from her book entitled, Jalapeno Bagels. June 12, 2010 at 4:06 PM. I am impressed, beyond impressed!

View from my Window: Enjoying the season of winter

http://viewfrommywindow-brandey.blogspot.com/2011/01/enjoying-season-of-winter.html

View from my Window. Learning to see through His eyes. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Enjoying the season of winter. As the months have passed, it has gotten nice and cold and winter has settled in. I'm taking in the sun as much as I can for as short of a time as it is out. However, along with winter come all the wonderful activities outside that are right out our back door. The kids skating on the bay. Skating on the lake, with a great sunset backdrop. Skiing home from school. Having fun on skis.

This time of year as the mercury begins to plummet, and the daylight starts to diminish, it becomes a challenge to find more activities indoors after the day is gone. Where we've been. Where we're going. September 20, 2010. The highlight of guiding with the float-plane this summer was being able to bring my son along with me on a trip to Twin Lakes to see and explore the famed cabin of Dick Proeneke. Dick built his cabin almost entirely with materials from the surrounding landscape, and built purely by hand. The weather was perfect and the fall colors were awesome. Hillside above Twin Lakes. Where we've been. Where we're going. February 08, 2012. No street lights and very few porch lights combined with an starless sky makes the night black, pitch black. When the sun sets at 3:40 in the afternoon and you get out of school at 3:15, sledding during daylight hours becomes limited. The result of limited sledding time is restless kids more than willing to turn on the wii or begging to watch a movie instead of playing outside in the dark. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). When living Vi-CARRIE-ously through a tour director is all you need! Monday, August 20, 2012. How better to spend the day of one's birth than in the London Olympic spirit! Life is made up of moments….but some more grander than the next, or the one before. This moment…has been just awesome….every single moment.
