View from River Mountain

This gorgeous rocker belonged to my husband's grandmother. It was one of the jewels he was given after she passed. It was a bit weathered. I thought I had taken a picture of it before but I can't find it so I will do my best to describe and maybe you can imagine. Although I loved the rustic look, I decided it needed a face lift. I couldn't decide what to replace the seat with so I went to the queen of good ideas.my mother. She had a couple suggestion but I fell in love with the denim idea. After all that...

This past weekend my husband and I were shopping at the supermarket. He suggested we buy some jam. We don't buy jam or jelly at the supermarket often. We have been fortunate to have some expert jelly-makers in our contact list. But nonetheless we opted to take a look at our options. This led to an indepth discussion/friendly argument as to what is the difference in jelly and jam. So what is the difference? In the U.S. and Canada Jelly. So it seems the primary difference is the existance of the flesh of t...

Wifi Assist COULD COST YOU BIG BUCKS! The new update (iOS 9) for iPhones was released recently. My wonderful husband made these candle pedestals for me in only a couple hours. I found something similar on pinterest and thought it would be the perfect fit for my mantle this year. I love that he painted and then distressed. The black didn't scream Christmas so I added some rafia and red berries and now it is perfectly Christmasy! I love them so much I'm not sure I will take them down after Christmas. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Creative Passage: Butterfly Eggs

http://ellenscreativepassage.blogspot.com/2012/03/butterfly-eggs.html

Wednesday, March 27, 2013. These cute eggs came out of the closet for my Easter decorations…I don’t do as much holiday decorating now that my son is older, but I do love these eggs. This is a repost from last year, but since it’s that time of the year…. I didn’t buy these eggs specifically for this project, they were with a pile of stuff I bought at an auction! They were the most ugly old country colors—forest green, burgundy and odd shade of navy and a mustardy yellow. Just ugly! I am linking to these.

View From Rain Island

View From Rain Island. Sunday, March 10, 2013. My affair with doilies started the first time I made one. I think it was the lace that first hooked me. Crocheted lace is so feminine yet the crochet and thread combine to create a surprisingly strong piece of fabric. Like many women I know, it can appear delicate but has an inherent strength built it. Top, I cut off the spaghetti straps and used a crocheted collar for the neckline and triangular shaped doilies as embellishment. The Pineapple Top. I also use...

Fresh Views From Reality. Because reality is always more astonishing than made-up stuff. About View From Reality. On the joys of learning French and other language exploits. July 29, 2015. Several years ago, before my first trip to Prague, I picked up a Berlitz Czech phrasebook and began what seemed like an innocent attempt at learning a few words and phrases. I have studied another language. French impressions at 3 weeks. So to my delight, French has been a walk in the park. I can see there is a lot...

It remains true that the Nakota (N/DN/D/Lakota; misnomer Sioux ) Nation did not have a religion. The Nakota language is free of the words god or prayer. However, crying - a sincere ‘from-the-heart’ offering of thanksgiving and appreciation to Grand Mother Earth and Grand Father Sky is a true aspect of Indigenous spirituality. A View From Right Field

A View From Right Field. Monday, February 20, 2012. The Case for Rick Nash. It's been a polarizing topic to say the least, but I wanted to take a crack at presenting the best possible case for Rick Nash in a medium that allows me the use of more than 140 characters at a time. I unabashedly believe that we should trade for Rick Nash, and I wouldn't be adverse to giving up Dubinsky, Kreider, and a 1st rounder to get it done. Here's what I'm thinking:. 2: He'll fit with the team concept. 3 Cally-Mitchell-Ha...
