Friday, June 26, 2015. Back on the road, found the distributer cap to be cracked which explains a backfire and no start but not why it ran to begin with or why it cracked. Fresh filter, cap and rotor and she purrs. 5 mile test drive was clean except for the alternator ground wire getting hot. Possibly related to the HEI wire shown below being held off the connector by the housing. Old trucks are fun. Lock cylinder fell back behind the latch. Who uses keys anymore?
