The Crooked Knitter: Oh, Sandy
http://crookedknits.blogspot.com/2012/11/oh-sandy.html
Saturday, November 3, 2012. As I'm sure everyone out there knows already, Hurricane Sandy came through our area like a beast. There's plenty of devastation- floods, trees on houses, power lines down, homes just swept away. I was lucky- we lost power but have a gas stove, oven and hot water heater. And hey, I can knit by candlelight :o). Bring in the fundraiser! I've pulled a Kay. And designed a simple square motif pattern to sell to raise money for Long Island Cares. The Village Knitter
So you think you want to own a yarn shop? Thursday, July 30, 2009. Sorry, no, not even December in my book.) So what's my gripe? Well, besides July's many benefits, it is also the most predictable. Within hours of the last of the Fourth's fireworks, you can almost feel the month slipping away uncontrollably. Is July not also the fastest month of the year? The fact that both March and July share the same thirty-one days is really hard to fathom. March seeems easily twice as long, does it not? To be a fash...

Nothing to see here | Lower your expectations. I'm making it up as I go along.
Nothing to see here. Lower your expectations. I'm making it up as I go along. March 24, 2013. So yesterday, I got some new shoes (always an effective motivational tool). Today, I dug out my gear. Dusted off my trusty training plan, and powered up the Running Room app on my phone. Leashed up the dogs (best training partners ever). Pressed play on my favourite running mix. And off we went. It wasn’t pretty. But it felt really, really good. So good that I can’t wait to go again tomorrow. March 10, 2012.
