Thanks to Sally's initiatives and hard work, the help of a couple host parents and organizations, and the understanding of all our work placements, we were able to enjoy a day trip to Ottawa for free on Remembrance Day. We then headed towards the New Canadians Centre, where a man came to talk to us about the Youth Emergency Shelter, another place in Peterborough that provides help to those in need. In the afternoon, Rachel and Andrea introduced us to different green initiatives pursued by social services organizations in Peterborough, and wrapped up their presentation with a fun quiz.
