11.15-19 | Walking through Mark
https://walkingthroughmark.wordpress.com/2014/07/11/11-15-19
A journey through the gospel. July 11, 2014. And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. And he was teaching them and saying to them, Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.

Saying, See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. A journey through the gospel. July 9, 2014. Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus. Sent two of his disciples. And said to them, Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this? Say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! The col...

A journey through the gospel. July 10, 2014. On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And he said to it, May no one ever eat fruit from you again. And his disciples heard it. I always feel sorry for the fig tree in this story – it wasn’t even the season for figs! 14 耶稣对树说 从今以后,永远也没有人吃你的果子 他的门徒也听见了。

A journey through the gospel. June 13, 2014. And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him, Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you. And he said to them, What do you want me to do for you? And they said to him, Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory. Jesus said to them, You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized? Anyhow, it is na...

Walking through Mark | Little Psalter

Walking through the psalms. Thank you everyone who has been following our journey through the psalms… It was really wonderful to think through all the varying states of emotion and modes of praise of the psalms. There is such a huge variety of human experience reflected in it, whether individual lyric or communal anthem, songs of lament or songs of praise. Felix and I are continuing our little collaboration at a new blog, Walking Through Mark. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Psalm 119 &#...

Wednesday, November 12, 2008. A Recipe Believe It Or Not. It's National Sausage Week so I wanted to cook up some bangers to celebrate. It's all about 'mid-week suppers'). Italian sausages make great spaghetti and meatballs or in lasagne instead of ragu. The pork, leek and chive sausages would have been lovely in a noodle soup, but try this spaghetti:. WALKING THROUGH LIFE | Sabina de Pertis
Happiness is a State of Mind. August 14, 2015. 8220;Happiness is a state of mind, a feeling above all other feelings that allows us to know that it’s good to be alive, that our existence has a meaning, and that we are where we belong. Daphne Rose Kingma: “A Garland of Love”. There are certain experiences and people, certain movements of our bodies or words that suddenly fill us with total happiness. Often this happens unexpectedly, but why not look deeper into the causes of those moments of happiness?

Living In A Stigma. April 2, 2015. No matter how much time passes, the stigma of mental illness still lies heavy on the outlook of society in these modern times. Sadly, there aren’t many voices speaking up in the name of mental illness. It’s still too taboo. The news these days isn’t helping clarify what mental illness really means. Take the case of the co-pilot who supposedly purposefully crashed the plane due to being depressed. Who new I could be useful in society! I have been blessed to have a counse...

walkingthroughoz | An Adventure in Australia
That Spider Meant Business. September 6, 2014. It’s taken me 2 months to experience a deadly Australian creature. And, must I say, Australia has finally lived up to its “creepiest place on Earth for things that will eat you” stereotype. Here’s the story. It’s a Golden-Orb Spider, except it was black…. Without even practicing it! August 26, 2014. Wow, it’s taken me a super long time to write another blog, but here goes! So we went to North Stradbroke Island a few weekends ago and it was a super fun trip!
