Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Here are some cute photos of Will from the past week or so. Will with his host sister and another COTP graduate (Chelda) on Easter. Will in his new chair (after surgery). Will in an 81 year old pram with host sister. Will going for the first spring walk in 81 year old pram. Will giving his host sister the "peace"sign in the car. He is so strong! Sunday, February 28, 2010. Friday, February 26, 2010. Will" (as we are calling him) was born in Haiti with club feet. He was born just 5 days before the earthquake. Because of his medical needs, we started to search for a doctor in the US who would be willing to donate their services to help fix Will's feet. Thursday, June 3, 2010. MRI and EMG tests done. Will had his MRI and EMG of his face (testing nerve conduction to muscles with little electric impulses). He was sedated with IV meds. They had a hard time finding a vein, so we had to wait for the IV team to get it started. He did really well! His jaw can move and so can his tongue, so we hope eating and speech will be good. Monday, May 24, 2010. Eye appointments for Will. Will had his vision appointment at the University of Minnesota clinic on Friday. It was very thorough and had some good news as a result. He does not need glasses because his eyes have good vision! The pictures are of Will's shoes, and a couple of him on his new toy. It was hot today here, so he's chilling without his shoes or clothes. Thursday, May 27, 2010. HAPPY SECOND BIRTHDAY ELIJAH! Wow so much to update! The Dr was very pleased with how it turned out. We were released after only 48 hours! We had to be readmitted several days later for concern of shunt failure or meningitis. After many tests and blood work we were able to go home again. He began crying non stop for several days after this but we were able to adjust and add some meds without being admitted. The Neuro surgeon believes his brain is trying to adjust. AND he is lookin...

Wednesday, March 31, 2010. No problems placing the shunt. We are in our room waiting for a CT scan. He is having some trouble with retching and vomiting. We are just doing lots of suctioning. We are going to try and start his continuous feeds soon. We will not be able to go home unless he can tolerate his feeds. He has a great new hairdo.shaved on halve of his head! As the year anniversary of his arrival approaches I can't help but look back and feel so incredibly blessed that God chose us to walk this! Elijah is now almost 25 lbs.can you believe that! He came last January weighing just 10 lbs at 19 months and 3 of those lbs were of his head! So here are some things he is doing. During each session he works with Speech, OT and PT.
