Because our hotel was on top of the hill in Istanbul, and in a really difficult place to get to, we had instructions on our transfer voucher to go down to the St Sophia Church at some ridiculous hour in the morning.  Of course, our hotel wasn't open for breakfast, so it was a cold, hungry start to the day. Wandering Walnuts: Prague to Dresden: Pastel Central

http://wanderingwalnuts.blogspot.com/2008/06/prague-to-dresden-pastel-central_02.html

Jason and Jodie's European Honeymoon. Monday, June 2, 2008. Prague to Dresden: Pastel Central. We had a nice long sleep in this morning before our driver picked us up in Prague from the Hotel.  Things have gone a lot smoother with hotels and drivers for this second stage of the tour and by and large the hotels have been reasonably good. This final one is the view from our window. After we'd finished exploring our hotel room we decided to take a quick walk into Dresden itself, by crossing the river. O...

Wandering Walnuts: PRAGUE - Royal Palace

http://wanderingwalnuts.blogspot.com/2008/06/prague-royal-palace.html

Jason and Jodie's European Honeymoon. Sunday, June 1, 2008. PRAGUE - Royal Palace. Our last full day in Prague was spent up in the old Royal Palace on top of the hill.  This palace is the main landmark of the old part of the city and we just had to get up there to see if for ourselves. Having filled our belly's we sauntered off towards the castle, only to be distracted by some falcons and other birds of prey. Here's a few of the big birds.  Check out the eye brows on the last one. After discovering that ...

Wandering Walnuts: BERLIN: Sweat and Cinemas

http://wanderingwalnuts.blogspot.com/2008/06/berlin-sweat-and-cinemas.html

Jason and Jodie's European Honeymoon. Wednesday, June 4, 2008. BERLIN: Sweat and Cinemas. We arrived in Berlin on a rather hot summers day, mid 30's, which our taxi driver told us happens a few weeks in the year in Berlin. Frankly this surprised us.  I mean this is supposed to be a four star hotel. One more star and this should be the equivalent of the best Intercontinental or Hyatt hotels, and no air conditioning.  What's with the star rating system in Germany? For my rating system it goes like this.

Wandering Walkie

Thoughts, poems and strange occurrences. Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Part 6 (the Westest Most Point and the End of the Road). A few images aren't mine). Or would it be genuine and heartfelt, adopting their virtues so that my life and the ones around me could feel the truth in their ancient ways? Either case, I was already down the road when I had that thought, stuffing my face with a warm Snack-able as I drove with my knee and texted ex-girlfriends. A variation of "How are you? What did I see? Inundated o...

Sunday, January 4, 2015. World Heritage Site Update. In January, I posted my list about which of the 981 World Heritage Sites I've visited. Despite traveling extensively in 2014, I actually only increased my total to 41. There are a ton in the USA that I haven't yet gotten to see, so those are my focus in the new year. Plus, some of them are located in the West, so they are also easy to get to! Take a look at the sites I've visited below! What sites have you visited? Palace and Gardens of Schonbrunn.

Somehow, the service this morning encompassed so many things ranging through my head. I've been lonely. Very lonely. This past year has been the first time since I was five. That I wasn't living in Longview. Do you know what this means? That's simply a precursor to what I do want to talk about. And a phrase that has caused me to clench my jaw every time I ...
