Ela from East to West
Ela from East to West. Musings on my wanderlust and whims. Mostly travel. Some lifestyle. All happiness. 2014 2015 Ela from East to West Theme Brixton. Roaring 20s Lawn Party Hits the Mark. I’ve been to my fair share of 1920s themed parties and the Roaring 20s Lawn Party. At the Crane Estate. In Ipswich, MA takes the cake. Ldquo;Great Gatsby” parties have been all the rage over the last few years and quite frankly, most miss the mark. But The Trustee. As I walked up the grassy hill to the The Great House.

Wanderlust and Wildlife - Blog
Excitement and experiences from a Kiwi Girl traveling. Ranger duty started with us piling into the back of the ute and Heading to the antelope enclosure. Zulu one of the Rangers dogs decided I would be his seat. We had to clean feeding troughs. Due to the rain these troughs are at risk of growing deadly parasites. We heaved these into the back of the trailer and went to the water tank to clean with soapy water. These were all then put back in the enclosure. Finally some hands on heavier work. We then thr...

Wanderlust and Wine
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." St. Augustine. Sunday, May 1, 2011. April 27 - Homeward Bound. I hope you enjoyed traveling along with me as much as I enjoyed writing the blog. I have taken nearly 3,000 photos, and now I must have the nearly impossible task of choosing those for my photo album. In no particular order, here are some (mis)adventures, anecdotes, or memories which will be with me for many years, no doubt. Seeing a green frog in the toilet;. Snorkeling, fo...

La vie en rose | I have no idea what I'm doing, but I do it really well.
La vie en rose. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I do it really well. Are you watching “Treme” tonight? We don’t have HBO and, though my neighbor has offered her TV to us, I don’t think I can take her up on it. Ever since I left New Orleans, I have avoided anything having to do with the post-Katrina city. Movies. TV shows. Documentaries. Books. Everything. I am not ready. It was honest-to-God the scariest and saddest place I have ever been. The city felt like a stranger. Comments : Leave a Comment.

With beautiful limestone hills framing its horizon, the city is rich in both natural beauty and tangible history. Where else can one explore a castle, feed turtles in a secluded garden, peek inside a haunted house, wander around a ghost town, and spot clever street art? With aged walls and bricks and tiles imported from India, Kellie’s Castle. Up close...

Forever Free
A collection of thoughts, experiences, reflections and adventures. Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Lessons Learned: A PG Narrative. It was, I would imagine, much like being dropped in the middle of the ocean, treading water and knowing, deep down, that the only answer was to choose a direction and start to swim. I realized I knew nothing. I instantly broke down in tears. It’s the little things. And still, no matter how many people I talked to, I found no answers, but instead just endless questions. Again, more...

Wanderlust and Wonderlust
Monday, 1 August 2016. Whale Watching in Nova Scotia - Brier Island. Whale watching has always been up there on my bucket list, as has a trip to Nova Scotia and I was lucky enough to have an experience that will stay with me forever. Getting to Brier Island is an adventure in itself. You have to catch two ferries to get you to the tiny island, (5 minute journeys so don't worry! It's truly somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world, and you'll be glad you did. Penny is very special...
