Thursday, February 13, 2014. 40 and Fabulous Surprise Birthday Party. I can't believe that I just typed those words. But, it is true. I turned 40 last week. Craziness. Actually, I think that my kids were more excited and anticipated it more than I did. I can tell you that I don't "feel" 40 . . .whatever that is supposed to feel like. At least I don't feel like what I thought 40 would feel like. The room was absolutely beautiful. We had a private room surrounded by natural wood and coolers full of wine.

Saturday, November 17, 2012. I started hosting Thanksgiving during our 2nd year of marriage. It wasn't really a planned thing. We were renting a house with a fantastic kitchen and I just kind of threw it out there and I've been doing it ever since. As far as traditions go, our Thanksgiving s kind of go like this:. 1 I set up a long table so tha t we are all at the same table. When I say "all" . . . this year I have 1 7 adu lts and 8 kids. I have to put 3 tables together. I'd love to hear about them!

Friday, December 27, 2013. Christmas 2013 was great. We were able to spend the entire weekend doing Christmas activities. It really got everyone in to the spirit. We started the weekend off by decorating cookies and exchanging gifts with our friends. On Saturday we had the Westerhold Christmas party. We always go to Scott's sister's (Debbie) house. Everyone brings appetizers and we play games and exchange presents. Sunday we moved on over to my parents' house and my side of the family. Links to this post.

Monday, August 20, 2012. Kanin's First Day of 3rd Grade. I can't believe my little 6lbs 1 oz baby is in 3rd grade! Of course, I wanted to get up and make him a special breakfast but he just wanted a "breakfast corn dog". Scott kept saying, "Dude, I don't think you understand what she is offering you." LOL. I had been trying to serve sausage and fruit on the side, but guess what was always left on their plates.the fruit.
