Room One/Mrs Dowdle: Snow Trip
http://wsroom1.blogspot.com/2016/08/snow-trip.html
Friday, 19 August 2016. After weeks of rain and strong winds, the day of our ski trip downed fine and clear. What a perfect day to go to the snow! When we got to the mountain the views were spectacular. Because we went by bus we were allowed to drive right to the top and didn't have to walk from the carpark! Some of the students went skiing, some went tobogganing or played in the snow. We had so much fun together. It got so warm we had to take our gloves and jackets off! 22 August 2016 at 11:30. Our next William Pike Challenge is going to be the Mud boys and girls in August. The second one this term will be Mt Titiraupenga if the weather improves,.
Room One/Mrs Dowdle: Cougar Park Biking
http://wsroom1.blogspot.com/2016/05/cougar-park-biking.html
Wednesday, 11 May 2016. What an awesome bunch of kids in Room 1! Today we went biking in Cougar Park in Tokoroa with the help of Kath, the bike lady. We are so fortunate to have someone like Kath who is passionate about getting kids on bikes and can provide us with a class set of bike so we can have days like to day! It was a challenging day for some of the students that had not had the opportunities to ride a bike very often, but my hat goes off to Anaru who just kept on persevering! 11 May 2016 at 14:58.
Room One/Mrs Dowdle: Week 6
http://wsroom1.blogspot.com/2016/03/week-6.html
Sunday, 6 March 2016. I am not sure what happened to week 5, I blinked and it was gone! It was a very busy week though. On Tuesday we went to AC Baths for the Watersafety programme. This is a fantastic programme and a lot of fun for the students. The class was divided into four groups and each group had a half hour session with an instructor. The activities they did were:. I don't think I have seen my students smile so much and for so long! I am sure the all slept very well that night! Testing 1, 2, 3.

Monday, 9 May 2016. Autumn is in the air, the fields are covered in leaves, the ground is wet when we go for our run in the morning and there is a definite chill in the air! Welcome to term 2 and the beginning of the cold season. Last week was a very short week, being sick on Monday and then Tech on Wednesday does make the time go fast! We are continuing to work hard on our goals and most students have achieved at least one goal on their basic facts ladder. Well done. More details to follow. Hi Room one&...

Sunday, 21 February 2016. We had a fantastic time with the swim instructors last week despite the miserable weather! Many of the students made great progress.
