The Lazy Artisan: August 2012
http://thelazyartisan.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 19, 2012. As far as introductions go. August 2012; London, U.K. my garden, on an outrageously hot and humid day (yes I’m going to start with the weather, look at all the great novels, they do it too). Things I will be writing about:. Books, films, theatre performances, and other things that generally have to do with the Arts and my experiences with them, both of other peoples work and my own. And speaking of ramblings, if you actually enjoy my bouts of insanity, head on over to my Tumblr (...

Blake Thinks...: August 2012
http://blake-thinks.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Confessions of an optimist. Monday, 27 August 2012. Guadeloupe: home of the no worries attitude and falling mangoes. Well that’s one more perfectly ripe mango for the fruit bowl. This is the home of the no-worries attitude. Two butterfly-wing shaped islands make up Guadeloupe, Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre. Basse-Terre is home to mountains, volcanoes, black sand beaches and mangoes galore. Tropical rainforest cloaks the mountain range from the intense sun hiding waterfalls, rapids and lakes.

Blake Thinks...: January 2011
http://blake-thinks.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Confessions of an optimist. Monday, 10 January 2011. In that case surely survival instinct should counter-act this with the notion that medicine will help us get better? I suppose natural instinct cannot be taught about modern medicine can it? There are several options for someone who, like me, has trouble gulping down pills:. 1 - don't get ill. ever. pills are not for healthy people - unfortunately we have little control over this. 2 - when ill, pretend not to be, or that you don't need medicine. Of cou...

Blake Thinks...: July 2011
http://blake-thinks.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Confessions of an optimist. Thursday, 7 July 2011. What has become of my bedroom:. Invasion of "The Packers". It's my house after all, well, not for long. Maybe I should explain - tomorrow we are moving house. So, for the past week I have been gradually and systematically filling boxes with books, clothes, pictures and general rubbish that I can't yet bring myself to throw away (3 years worth of Vogue and Elle Magazines) and that I'll probably end up throwing away in ten years. Today we thought. I think ...

Blake Thinks...: New Year New You?
http://blake-thinks.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-year-new-you.html
Confessions of an optimist. Sunday, 1 January 2012. New Year New You? Has anyone ever literally turned a leaf over? If its the kind of leaf that we find whilst on the obligatory New Years Day walk then in my experience the other side is either grotty and covered in mud and other unthinkable things, or it is nearly identical to the first side. Is this cliche really what we want to peg our hopes for the coming year on? Does the reality tell us something about the nature of a new leaf? We might think every ...

Blake Thinks...: November 2010
http://blake-thinks.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Confessions of an optimist. Thursday, 18 November 2010. The bright side of obsession. For those of you reading this who aren't in the process of waiting impatiently to receive university offers, I'm sure you have obsessions too. A favourite TV show? Finding the perfect jeans? Endless to-do lists (certainly one of my obsessions that I share with What-Katie-Did. Whether its an all-consuming passion, or merely a preoccupation, there are advantages to obsession. Wednesday, 10 November 2010. Yes it has been m...

Blake Thinks...: Review: We Were Evergreen
http://blake-thinks.blogspot.com/2011/12/review-we-were-evergreen.html
Confessions of an optimist. Wednesday, 7 December 2011. Review: We Were Evergreen. Photos taken by Dan Korkelia www.dankorkelia.com. Am I making any sense at all? Its surprisingly difficult to describe We Were Evergreen without underselling or sounding like a flower fairy. This band is like no other I've ever come across. Lets establish the basics. There are three lovely parisians on the stage surrounded by a variety of fun looking instruments to play with. What is great about We Were Evergreen is they d...

Blake Thinks...: Rae Morris at the Jericho Tavern, Oxford 9/3/12
http://blake-thinks.blogspot.com/2012/03/rae-morris-at-jericho-tavern-oxford.html
Confessions of an optimist. Sunday, 11 March 2012. Rae Morris at the Jericho Tavern, Oxford 9/3/12. Tiny as she is, Rae Morris must be filled to the core with voice and she's just got to let it out. Then she spoke, and once more took the audience a little by surprise as she thanked everyone for coming in a husky, whispery voice. Rae is incredibly timid when she speaks, but her singing voice is royally rich and sumptuous, as if all that confidence and power is saved for the music. Day One' - Rae Morris:.
