Staffroom Showdowns!: December 2007

Sunday, December 23, 2007. Last Day Of School. Friday was the last day of school and I'm off for 2 wonderful weeks! The last day was pretty standard in that the kids didn't do a damn thing other than be merry and festive and fully loaded with sugar. She stayed in her room and cleaned up/got herself organized while I was with my class (as were the other teachers) because it wasn't meant to be a planning time for us! So that totally ruined the end of my day! Anyways . Merry Christmas everyone! Unfortunatel...

Staffroom Showdowns!: January 2008
http://i-need-to-be-taught-not-the-kids.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31, 2008. Wow this blog has been taking a blow. I haven't been posting much at all. Most of the reason is I just feel like every post I write about work will just be littered with complaints about how I hate working with one of my teaching partners. She acts dumb so she doesn't have to do anything. She takes stuff from us (tests we make, etc.) and will not bother "lending a hand" and doing something herself without having to be told. She never takes initiative. Friday, January 18, 2008.

Sunday, November 11, 2007. Man I'm not doing a great job keeping this site updated. I have another blog that I update pretty frequently and I guess it's harder than I imagine keeping two sites afloat. But I will make a vow to myself to try and post here at least once a week. Lord knows I've got stuff to write about. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I teach. And learn. View my complete profile. Fractions Speak Louder Than Nerds. Public Ed. Trenches. Staffroom Showdowns!: It's Crunch Time Dammit!
http://i-need-to-be-taught-not-the-kids.blogspot.com/2008/06/its-crunch-time-dammit.html
Sunday, June 15, 2008. It's Crunch Time Dammit! What do you do when your report cards are due and you realize that a student missed a question in a test? Well, if you're me, you put your self into the shoes of your student, and answer the question as you think they would. Luckily for me, this is grade one. You do what you gotta do! Was it a standardized test? Because when I first read your question, my answer was: You mark it wrong. And what difference would it make on the report card?

Staffroom Showdowns!: April 2008
http://i-need-to-be-taught-not-the-kids.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 4, 2008. Ask And Ye Shall Receive. A recent comment by damned cat. Reminded me that I have this blog. And that I should probably update it. If you have to think really hard about when you last wrote a post, then chances are it's been too long. So I'm no longer a grade 1 teacher for next year but am moving to a grade 8 class. Thank you God. I am counting down the days (months . cries! That's all for now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I teach. And learn. View my complete profile.

Staffroom Showdowns!: January 2009
http://i-need-to-be-taught-not-the-kids.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 22, 2009. Is This Thing On? Wow, has it ever been awhile since I've hit these blog walls. The year has been going well so far. Nothing major to report on. I am still wading through the curriculum, trying to get comfortable with it. I'm doing the best I can, and I know that next year will (hopefully) be a lot better. I have nothing more to add right now. I hope that everyone is having a fun and successful year so far! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I teach. And learn. Is This Thing On?

Staffroom Showdowns!: 10 Days Left
http://i-need-to-be-taught-not-the-kids.blogspot.com/2008/06/10-days-left.html
Thursday, June 12, 2008. Not that I'm counting. Now that I'm changing rooms, I need to start packing up my shit. Thank goodness the school has an elevator, because I don't think I'd be able/willing to carry boxes up stairs. Just not happening. Of the two room available, I apparently got the room that has the better set up and doesn't have any awkward aspects to it. Oh and the part I love the most? So yes, I'm gearing up for next year and this year hasn't even ended yet! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Simply Sublime Stupidity: August 2009
http://simplysublimestupidity.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 27, 2009. Third graders are a lot different than first graders! I think I'm gonna like them! This has been an exhausting week but I am looking forward to this year. I hope I can get them to where they need to be by April. I am VERY fortuanate to work with an amazing, knowledgable, and helpful team. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to work with! Thursday, August 20, 2009. I have got to get plans done for the first week! Wednesday, August 19, 2009. I was able to work out ...

Simply Sublime Stupidity: What A Day
http://simplysublimestupidity.blogspot.com/2008/10/what-day.html
Thursday, October 16, 2008. That's about all I can say. I feel fortunate that I still have my same job, in my same school, in my same room, with my same kids. I feel a bit sad that I feel fortunate about that. Many of my colleagues can not say the same thing. Why should we be tousled about this way? I'm bracing myself for a strange and difficult next few weeks. I hope your week is improving. I know it was a hard week for a lot of people. October 27, 2008 at 7:45 PM.
