The second excuse is that my room in the backpackers was broken into and my backpack containing my camera, mp3-player, knife, hackysack, etc. was stolen.thus no fotos! PETER AND THE WORLD. Girraween and Bald Rock - October 2008. Being spring there were an amazing array of wild flowers around, lots of them similar to the fynbos found in the Western Cape in South Africa. With the flowers came butterflies and loads of birds that we heard more often than saw! From Bald Rock we continued along a dirt road past Paddy's Nob to the big tree - a red cedar and finally back to Brisbane. Beer belaying at Turtle Rock. Me climbing at Turtle Rock. A quick update from me, since I haven't been doing so in a while there are a lot of pictures and events to tell you about. What have I been up to? Relaxing at 1-Mile Beach includes a lot of surfing, walking, reading, squid fishing, a visit to the largest wandering sand dunes in the world and sandboarding. Sand dunes at Birubi.
