Moldovan Sojourn: January 2007
http://ianspain.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 30, 2007. I'm glad I know how to laugh at myself. Last night was a perfect example. I get back from basketball practice and rush through dinner with my host brother. I am rushing because I need to get to the gas station on the edge of the village by 7pm so I can get my phone back from the bus driver who found it Sunday evening after I disembarked. Thankfully the guys who work there know me, and are amused eternally by talking with me, so they mercifully invite me in to chat while I wait.

My life as a Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova for the next two years. Lots of photos. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. This past weekend, my program manager, invited me and several other volunteers to go hiking with her and some of her friends. We headed by rented transportation to an are north east of where I live, called Tipova (pronounced tsipova). I had such a wonderful time! I have forgotten how nice it is to get outside, and lose myself in nature! Posted by Anna at 11:53 PM. Posted by Anna at 6:19 AM.

My life as a Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova for the next two years. Lots of photos. Sunday, August 13, 2006. I figured it was time for another update since it's been a few weeks. So, I thought I would include some of my favorite Moldovan scenery pictures while I was at it. Not too cold. There have been several quick thunder storms that rush in and then speed away just as quickly. It's amazing how quickly a sky can cloud over and then pour rain! More and more. Everybody grows sunflowers as they are ...

Moldovan Sojourn: December 2006
http://ianspain.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 11, 2006. Pictures from our first and only snowfall in early November. The kids do it too, based on their class schedule for the day at least. I am sitting in on Russian lessons with the fifth graders and I know exactly what each and every one of them will be wearing for Monday morning classes. They have gym class that day so they all show up in track suits., all perfectly clean and pressed, but always the same. Basket ball practice with my 8th grade team, and an AIDS lesson in school.

http://ianspain.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 28, 2006. So, the recap. Once school ended I began the summer sprint. I have been working to help the newly arrived volunteers adjust to life in Moldova, teaching health in other villages, helping out at the new summer camp in my village, and prepping for lessons for English camp, which was a blast, and all too short. Nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kind of people. -Mark Twain, 1876. Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Everyday, several people from my small village come to the mayor's office to apply for some kind of documentation to get an ID card or passport. Many also travel to Romania or Bulgaria to apply for dual citizenship. Why? Monday, February 26, 2007. Our experience in Balti this weekend will hopefully lead to another Poosk seminar...

Nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kind of people. -Mark Twain, 1876. Wednesday, May 02, 2007. A German Rotary Club. One Rotarian mentioned that he always liked America because following WWII, he remembered receiving packages from the States with good food and nice, warm clothes. Isn't it amazing how those gifts so many years ago helped shape an opinion that has lasted so long? Its very nice of you, guys! The End is Nigh.
