I was hoping that since I was camped on a cliff with a beautiful view to the east over Lake Watuga that I would get to see that perfect sunrise this morning, but it was obstructed by the trees. You'd think that you would come across an amazing waterfall at some point in hiking 400 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Well, technically you do, precisely at mile 395 you arrive at Jones Falls. I just wish that my data book, The AT Guide, had been more truthful about the existence of a campsite there. Posted from the trail. May 27, 2011 at 8:16 AM. A long uphill battle.
