Where In The World Is Kacey?!?: January 2013

http://www.whereskacey.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Real Talk: January 2013. I usually like to keep my blogs light and airy with some stupid bitching about unimportant things along the way. But it's my blog and I feel like real talking for a moment. I mean, it's always been real talk, but it's gonna get more real in a second. Since day 1 of knowing, people have tentatively asked if we were excited. Do you want the truthful answer? We were, we have been, and we are 400% excited! Anxieties and My Ridiculous Brain. As I said over at the kitchen. Maybe it's j...

Where In The World Is Kacey?!?: June 2013 Monthly Recap

http://www.whereskacey.blogspot.com/2013/07/june-2013-monthly-recap.html

June 2013 Monthly Recap. I feel like I've been getting busier and busier, which makes me really glad I started this monthly recap. Although it doesn't cover everything we've done, it's a good little summary if I haven't gotten a lot of posts in throughout the month. Aaron has stayed busy with work, and we've gotten a lot done around the house. Seriously.it's just a normal Wednesday. I've been trying to get some volunteer hours under my belt, and am still in the process of applying through different place...

Where In The World Is Kacey?!?: June 2013

http://www.whereskacey.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

After reading my last post on my adventures with Kassie on Kourijima. I know you're just dying to find out if we ever made it to Iejima, our original adventure destination. We woke up early, drove up the oh-so-familiar-by-now highway and arrived at the ferry terminal to find a packed parking lot and long lines. This looked much more promising! Be sure to check out Kassie's blog and recap of our trip here. We biked a few kilometers to the Hibiscus Garden which housed over 1,000 different varieties. Wh...

Eating Japan, Part 2. Onto Eating Japan part 2. If you missed part 1, check it out here. Here are a few more examples of food we've eaten since arriving in Japan. More to come in future posts as well. We don't want to make you drool too much at any one time. We aren't liable for drownings. While Mister Donuts use to be in the United States (is it still there anywhere? It was amazing and I'm glad I decided to picnic it on a cliff. Not to mention, the oysters were FABULOUS! So you don't miss anything!

8220;Try and fail, but don't fail to try.”. Sunday, August 22, 2010. Be careful what you wish for. I married Dave in 2004. Back then he didn't totally agree with my intuition, my idea that there are angels among us, and my other ideas about life and living. But I think he is slowly coming around. “Try and fail, but don't fail to try.”: January 2010

http://dlruthenberg.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

8220;Try and fail, but don't fail to try.”. Thursday, January 21, 2010. It is hard to get old. This year I am 58. Oh my lord. Along with just the number of the years getting larger, aches and pains and other old age symptoms crop up. I have known that I have degenerative disc disease which causes pain. Probably some arthritis. Asthma, sinusitis, and through not fault of anyone else, except myself and maybe genetics, obesity. So with the worry of possibly cardiac problems out of the way, I can safely exer...

Turning Mediterranean: Fig Pizza

http://turningmediterranean.blogspot.com/2013/09/figgy-pizza.html

Wednesday, September 4, 2013. I have a tendency to obsess over things. Right now, one of those things is le fig. I want to put them on. Everything. Mostly because they are pretty. Tasting delicious is a bonus. Let's get fancy. Small red onion, sliced thin. Whole wheat pizza crust. Ricotta, asiago and goat cheeses (amount to taste). 6 figs, sliced (I used a mixture of Brown Turkey and Black Mission figs.). Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute onion slices over low heat with 4 tsp. Fig and onion slices on top.

8220;Try and fail, but don't fail to try.”. Sunday, April 04, 2010. He took x-rays and felt around. I went back today to get the diagnosis and treatment. Tendinitis. He gave me a cortisone shot to help with the inflammation and it should get better. We shall see. I might try some other therapies also, taping, icing, deep massage, etc. But the good thing is that there are exercises to do that do not hurt my foot. So the personal trainer is working on the rest of my flabby body. Posted by Deborah Ruthenberg.

Turning Mediterranean: Snack Week Recipe: Vegetable Chips

http://turningmediterranean.blogspot.com/2013/08/snack-week-recipe-vegetable-chips.html

Monday, August 19, 2013. Snack Week Recipe: Vegetable Chips. Snack week continues with vegetable chips! I generally prefer to eat vegetables raw. Wash and go. It's a texture thing - squash may be the worst offender when it comes to cooked vegetables. I can't stand the squish. Chips don't squish. Let's make some chips. Vegetables (such as potatoes, carrots, zucchini, kale, beets, fennel, squash, etc). 1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil per vegetable used. 1/4 tsp sea salt per vegetable used. Snack Week Recipe: ...

Whitfield Awesome Blog: November 2012

http://whitfieldawesome.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 27, 2012. The worst egg hunt ever. I sat down to enjoy a light evening of comedy featuring Zooey Deschanel and that hot guy who plays Nick that I simultaneously feel like I've known forever and have never seen before but it doesn't matter either way because I want to have babies with him even though I probably can't because 90% of my eggs are LOST. That's right, lost. Keeping the other. Socks company. Candle in the wind. My sacks are running on 10%. Gone. Should I have worn fewer skirts?

Where In The World Is Kacey?!?

Alaska Adventures, Part 2. One of the first things I did while in Alaska was casually explore the Fairbanks area. This included hitting up the free Alaska historic theme park, which was okay. It's a good thing it was such a nice day, and the fact that it was free helped. At least I got to ride a giant salmon. That's always a win, isn't it? Like I mentioned in Part 1. I'd love to have this art. The Tanana Valley Farmer's Market was great. So many beautiful vegetables and local crafts! Thanked Aaron later ...
