have a nosh!: expand your mind, embrace cilantro!
http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2010/04/expand-your-mind-embrace-cilantro.html
Expand your mind, embrace cilantro! Cilantro is one of our absolute favorite herbs. It's a staple in our lives - I buy it fresh almost every week from the store (and yes, one of these days I'll actually grow it in our very own herb garden), and it's essential to many of our favorite dishes. Just last night, we returned from a late-night party quite ravenous and enjoyed a breakfast waffle. Topped with fresh cilantro - and this morning we enjoyed more in our breakfast burritos! Not so, says the Times - it ...

have a nosh!: roasted tomato curry coconut soup with shrimp and peas... the winner!
http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2010/04/roasted-tomato-curry-coconut-soup-with.html
Roasted tomato curry coconut soup with shrimp and peas. the winner! Apparently our federal government is getting into the nutritional kick, with the first "Feds Get Fit" cook-off. That showcased government workers creating dishes a la Top Chef for a panel of judges - which included my favorite. Since Carla loved the winning soup, I think it's a recipe worth hanging onto. Hopefully we'll make it soon! Roasted Tomato Curry Coconut Soup with Shrimp and Peas. 2 lb tomatoes, cored and cut into wedges. About 1...

Shrimp tacos with warm corn salsa and guacamole. Redbook comes through once again! We tweaked this recipe a bit and were quite happy with the results. A lovely way to start eating healthy, home-cooked meals again! Shrimp Tacos with Warm Corn Salsa. 1 can (about 1 1/4 c) corn kernals. 5 smallish tomatoes, roasted. 1 chipotle pepper, diced. 1 T olive oil. Recipe ...

have a nosh!: disastrous lasagna
http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2010/03/disastrous-lasagna.html
Another great idea from Beth's blog. Originally from Gina's Weight Watcher Recipes. But it didn't turn out so well on my end! I added a package of veggie ground beef, which was a good thing - but Nick's not a big fan of spinach and ricotta cheese lasagna, and I wasn't a big fan of the precooked lasagna noodles that Mega Mart offered (should have bought the real noodles in Family Food, but I was holding out hope that I would find whole wheat noodles. ha! Better noodles might improve this recipe? Ladle sau...

have a nosh!: fourth of july
http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2008/07/fourth-of-july.html
In 2005, Nick and I celebrated our first Fourth of July in DC by lying out on the grass by the Lincoln Memorial all day, waiting for. The evening fireworks. We snuck in red wine in cranberry juice containers and thought we were pretty smart until we started to die. This time, however, we were going to do it right! So despite the fact that the humidity was high, the sun was beating down, and the rain came pouring in - we had an absolutely fantastic Fourth of July! 1/2 small white onion (note: don't overdo...

http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2009/04/nicks-and-joces-list-of-deliciousness.html
Nick's (and joce's) list of deliciousness. In his never-ending quest to categorize this food blog (see the gold star system. Tag), Nick has now created his "list of deliciousness": a list of surefire recipes from which we can pick one each week (along with new recipes, of course). I've added my suggestions as well. We will see how this latest method fares. Nick's (and Joce's) List of Deliciousness. Spinach, roasted red pepper, and artichoke enchiladas. Mexican lasagna (two versions: beans. Grilled marina...

have a nosh!: zucchini, anyone?
http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2010/08/zucchini-anyone.html
Well, tonight's dinner may have permanently solved the zucchini problem - still pretending that we have such a thing over here in Doha. Nick and I took one bite and had to forcibly restrain ourselves from more until a picture was taken - "for the list! As Nick gasped. The salsa verde is ridiculously. have a nosh!: waffle with ham, cheese, and fried eggs
http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2008/02/waffle-with-ham-cheese-and-fried-eggs.html
Waffle with ham, cheese, and fried eggs. Nick and I love the TV show Top Chef. We have been fans since Season 2. Bitterly mourning the judges' mistake of choosing the imposter Ilan. Over the glorious and talented Marcel. I even wrote a protest comment on Judge Tom Colicchio's final blog post. Along with thousands of other disgruntled fans), and cheered on crazy Hung. S victory in Season 3. And especially with the hiatus of our beloved show 24. Although with the writer's strike. 1 slice muenster or pepper...

have a nosh!: top chef finale
http://nosh-nosh.blogspot.com/2009/02/top-chef-finale.html
Oh, Top Chef. you giveth and you taketh away. Nick and I were totally psyched to see that the "help" given to the three finalists came in the form of three previous runners-up (and our favorites): Marcel. Casey of Season 3 had such promise to be the first female Top Chef, but then she totally choked in the finale, unable to handle her pork belly correctly (then why choose it? However, we were bummed out with the final results. It's not that Hosea didn't "deserve" to win (as many blogs are lamenting.
