Bits and Pieces: May 2011
http://yvonsbits.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 2 May 2011. I can dream, can't I? I’m supposed to be a retired author, but I’ve got so many ideas popping into my head that I sometimes think I could write another forty books. At my age, I suppose, it’s not practical to think along these lines. These days you need to find yourself an agent who will then approach a publisher on your behalf, and so everyone gets a slice of the cake, if you know what I mean. And then there’s the tax man; he needs to get his slice of the cake too. Oh, woe is me!

Bits and Pieces: A LONG ABSENCE
http://yvonsbits.blogspot.com/2012/03/long-absence.html
Friday, 30 March 2012. Yes, I am back after a long absence. The past year was not easy for my husband, Vernon, and certainly not for me. It is only by the grace of God that we have come through it in the way we have, and can find enjoyment in life again. At our age any kind of illness is making us aware of our own mortality, and at the same time it is also making us more aware of this beautiful world we live in, and how fortunate and how blessed we are. I also crocheted a queen-sized blanket for myself.

Bits and Pieces: God still performs miracles
http://yvonsbits.blogspot.com/2011/03/god-still-performs-miracles.html
Thursday, 31 March 2011. God still performs miracles. There is a lady from Jeffrey’s Bay who has been suffering from Guillain-Barré Syndrome since July 2010. For those of you who don’t know, it is a debilitating disease that attacks the nervous system and paralyses the muscles, and the healing process is sometimes painfully and agonisingly slow. The healing process has been painstakingly slow, but Christa has been quite remarkable throughout it all. I confess that there were times during these weekly vis...

Through My Lens: Noordhoek, Port Elizabeth
http://yvonslens.blogspot.com/2011/03/noordhoek-port-elizabeth.html
Thursday, 24 March 2011. Noordhoek, Port Elizabeth. When I was a child, many years ago, we used to go out on the Marine Drive on a Sunday and take one of the little in-roads into the bush at Noordhoek. We would find ourselves an open spot under the Port Jackson willows, spread our blanket on the sand, and then my father would make us a lunchtime braai (barbeque) with the pieces of wood he found lying around. It was always great fun and you’d forget for a while that you’re living in a city.

Through My Lens: Addo Elephant Park
http://yvonslens.blogspot.com/2011/03/up-close-and-personal-this-young.html
Monday, 7 March 2011. 8220;Up Close and Personal”. This young elephant walked quite close by our vehicle. I find the texture of their skin quite fascinating … and then there’s those long. Makes me quite envious. 8220;An Addition To The Family”. We were fortunate to see this little elephant calf. It was only a day old and it was still struggling a bit to reach its mommy’s teats. Isn’t it cute? 7 March 2011 at 08:47. Yvonne that is so cute! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Art of Vanessa Bentley.

Through My Lens: Random Pickings
http://yvonslens.blogspot.com/2011/03/snoozing-while-waiting-for-nibble.html
Saturday, 5 March 2011. 8220;Snoozing while waiting for a nibble”. I love taking photos of people when they’re not aware of the camera being pointed at them. They are always more natural this way. This photo was taken at Amsterdam Hoek when we took a drive out there one afternoon. 8220;The Big Pineapple”. This photo was taken at the pineapple farm at Bathurst. I love that area. We spent several holidays caravanning at Port Alfred and we used to love visiting all the various places of interest in that area.

Through My Lens: Marina Martinique
http://yvonslens.blogspot.com/2011/03/marina-martinique.html
Tuesday, 8 March 2011. Marina Martinique is a lovely place near Jeffrey's Bay. We had the opportunity to visit family there and, of course, to take photos. It was a perfect day for reflections and then I always like bringing in a bit of the architecture, like pillars, etc. It's expensive living, but it's really beautiful and, for the younger ones, so very romantic. Wednesday, 16 March 2011. Just Nuisance - Simonstown". I love going to Cape Town, there are so many interesting places to visit and so many lovely scenic views to photograph. The photograph of Table Mountain was taken from Signal Hill. The view of the city and the harbour is fantastic from up there and at night it is quite spectacular. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Through My Lens: Klein Brakrivier
http://yvonslens.blogspot.com/2011/03/klein-brakrivier.html
Wednesday, 9 March 2011. The Klein Brakrivier station buildings have been revamped and are now being used as a restaurant. It is quaint and attractive and on the platform itself there are relics from days gone by for those who are interest in the past and things such as old milk cans and old-fashioned suitcases.
