http://lonnieselje.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. A City of Compassion. Many of you are aware of the homeless battle going on in my community. Since the common council voted down the proposal we brought before them, many things have happened. You see this began a year ago with a phone call from my mother about a news story in the Milwaukee area. I saw the idea as a way for our community to help others and proposed it to our senior pastor. And so I went to the city for their approval. And I thought we were done. I was so don...

Lion & Lamb: July 2010
http://lonnieselje.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 9, 2010. Then I think of the spiritual application of what my body is going through. And I have a whole new level of patience and understanding for some of the people I know who are trying to break bad habits and physical addictions. Lion & Lamb: Feeling Violated
http://lonnieselje.blogspot.com/2013/06/feeling-violated.html
Monday, June 24, 2013. I was in Milwaukee this past week for our District’s annual conference. Just prior to the end of the enriching, inspiring event, something happened…vandalism to several cars in the parking lot. Someone I spoke to commented that they felt violated (theirs was one of the cars with damage.) Others took it in stride praying their Bibles would impact the theives, while still others are claiming they won’t go back. Don’t most churches build in the outskirts? As Christians, we are called ...

Lion & Lamb: October 2012
http://lonnieselje.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 17, 2012. The nature of some of my work is in showing people the difference between helping vs. enabling them. This week I was reminded of a very important component to helping. In this day and age, we are quick to write a check or even give a few dollars to someone on the street. But it isn't always money they need. Oh, they may want it, and they may take it, but it's not what they need. Now you have to know me to understand that shopping is not. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, June 29, 2010. I Met God in the Morning. I met God in the morning". I met God in the morning. When the day was at its best,. And His Presence came like sunrise,. Like a glory in my breast. All day long the Presence lingered,. All day long He stayed with me,. And we sailed in perfect calmness. O'er a very troubled sea. Other ships were blown and battered,. Other ships were sore distressed,. But the winds that seemed to drive them,. Brought to me a peace and rest. Then I thought of other mornings,.

When the kingdom of God comes Jesus will not be recognized by a crown or robes. He’s never been into that kind of garb. The Scripture teach He will be known by His scars. We will identify the King of Kings by nail-scarred marks on his hands and feet. First, He intercedes on our behalf (Romans 8:27). Second, He reminds us Whose we are (8:16).

Infilling begins with complete surrender. Surrender from a worldly perspective denotes defeat after a lost battle. In God’s kingdom however, it is the basis for a life of joy, peace and victory. So what do we surrender? Our selfishness, passivity, ambitions, plans, grudges, critical attitudes, and an unloving spirit. God may show you others!

Before I was saved, I would have things going on in my life that to me were unexplainable.
