Knitting Linguist: September 2013
http://knittinglinguist.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 29, 2013. San Diego Yarn Crawl 2013. Unlike my friend Marie, I knew I wouldn't be able to visit all of the stores on the list, but we did manage to skip out early on Friday to make the 40 -mile drive to Ramona to go to an alpaca farm (you can't go wrong with alpaca, I say, even if you have to do some washboard dirt driving to get there). This guy had the best topknot ever. And - to my very great excitement, the Yarnover Truck was there! That's not the best representation of the color, w...

Knitting Linguist: I do knit, it turns out
http://knittinglinguist.blogspot.com/2013/10/i-do-knit-it-turns-out.html
Monday, October 28, 2013. I do knit, it turns out. I just don't have as much time for it as I wish I did! As you can see, though, I did finish the Side Impact Sweater. This weekend. Or, at least, I finished it once. Then I finished it again. And wearing it to work today, I realize that I need to finish it one more time. (I can't be the only knitter who needs to fuss with things after "finishing" them, right? Bad photos, I know - but it's this or nothing right now.). It's only sitting like that (which I c...

Knitting Linguist: May 2013
http://knittinglinguist.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 13, 2013. Some of you may recognize the signs of prom.) In fact, much of Saturday was spent on the getting-ready part of prom (getting nails done, for example). There was even hair-doing. I'm not much of a girl, really, and you've all seen how short my hair is these days, so that involved going out to actually purchase a hair-dryer and curling iron (! I think Older Daughter was deeply concerned that the curling iron part of things might end up like this. And double-sided front/hood edging?

Knitting Linguist: May 2014

Monday, May 19, 2014. Trying to get back in gear. And I am trying to get my head around how to work posting here into my life in a realistic way. Not yet sure how to do that (obviously), and I haven't taken any good pictures of knitted finished objects, even though I have been knitting. The latest is a little sweater. Other things have been happening around here that aren't knitting related. Just to show a few:. Photo removed for now). We also have a new family member:. I knew that it was fate. Which is ...

Knitting Linguist: January 2014
http://knittinglinguist.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 6, 2014. Welcome, new year! Like everyone does at this time of year (I assume - maybe I'm overgeneralizing), I have been contemplating The New Year Post. Somehow it seems like, when posting at this time of year, one is meant to look over the last year, contemplating resolutions kept, and resolutions not-so-much kept (and why is it that that list always seems so much more front-and-center than the other? Did not lose weight. Did not Achieve Enlightenment. Is it just me? This past week has ...

Knitting Linguist: March 2013
http://knittinglinguist.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 24, 2013. I was taking pictures of various things I've been working on, and looking at pictures of some of the non-fiber pursuits I've been engaged in recently, and I think that there's a theme arising. Let's see if you see it, too. Mist-covered hills and mountains stretching away to the east. And back down again in time to catch the sun making it over the big hill I'd just climbed. By the time I got back down, the bees were hard at work again. I was relieved. And trying to devise some way ...

Knitting Linguist: Drive-by
http://knittinglinguist.blogspot.com/2013/10/drive-by.html
Saturday, October 5, 2013. This is a quick drive-by post, because I actually have two (! Finished objects to show, and because after this bit of time, the rest of the weekend is going to be a bit busy (play this afternoon, followed by office party in San Diego; tomorrow, Younger Daughter has a feis in Burbank, which is a schlep away). Of course, now that there are new warm things to wear, a Santa Ana has blown through. Humidity is in single digits, and it is warm warm warm. (Except when the sun g...Will ...
