Fall, a little late – Wordswerve
http://www.wordswerve.com/2012/12/11/fall-a-little-late
Write art where art is needed. Fall, a little late. December 11, 2012. Hemingway wrote about the leaves changing in fall like they were soldiers dying on a battlefield. I see the leaves changing colors and falling off the tree as an opportunity to enjoy the twilight of the leaf’s life. It turns red or yellow or brown and then brown and then falls off the tree. The tree lives on.
she’s infinitely wrong – Wordswerve

Write art where art is needed. She’s infinitely wrong. April 4, 2011. I turned away, looking outside, sitting in the ink, floundering, and she spoke. She was serious. Her world would break down; her whole self would be called into question. I smiled at the existential irony. She kept talking, her inflection dropping down rather than up, as if to punctuate the somber message about her future. I commiserated. I loved her; I wanted her to succeed; I didn’t want us to be separate.

http://www.wordswerve.com/2013/07/18/an-authors-thought
Write art where art is needed. An author’s thought. July 18, 2013. As a husband, I hate to think about it. As a writer, I have to. And even as I write this, I wait for my wife to come home, and I hope that this analysis remains hypothetical.

he wishes for the dry cloths – Wordswerve

Write art where art is needed. He wishes for the dry cloths. March 14, 2011. Come upstairs, she said, and I followed her to the second floor, passing pictures of her and her family, seeing for the first time what she looked like before we met. I saw her as a child. At the top of the stairs, the hallway opened up to the family room, which was almost the same size as the living room. I tried that, and she ordered her father to order it for us, and he did. Then I fell into her pool. She pulled me out, she p...
