In 2008 a friend with a farm gave me an enormous basket of red tamarillos (tree tomatoes) and some tamarillo cuttings. I made red tamarillo chutney with most of the tamarillos and plonked the cuttings in the garden. Ever since then the children have been asking when we can have tamarillo chutney again. First we picked the fruit. 25 kg tamarillos (red or orange).

This Banana Cake is one of the things I don’t usually like to bake but I was up to it after we went on a big walk down by the marina along the walkway by the boats. Me and Zara took our scooters and we kept on throwing rocks in the water and I almost hit a boat, that gave me a bit of a fright! But luckily it was ready in time for desert Yum! 1 cup mashed banana. These are funny shaped rocks that were made when the soft rock was blown away by the wind and rain and just left the hard rock in funny shapes. We stayed in the Nature Park Cave Hotel www.natureparkhotel.com. There are lots of nice places that you can drive to like Urgup and don’t forget to go to the open air museum. Eat more ...

That having been said, here are a few thoughts that came out of the process of trying to do this myself:. 2) It takes a very long time to oven dry and is probably a pretty inefficient use of resources. This project makes total sense in the dead of winter when the extra heat coming from the oven is heavenly. 3) A food dehydrator is definitely the way to go on this project. I have recently run across a quote by Sir Albert Howard from 1940 which I found very thought-provoking:. 8220;Artifical manures lead inevitably to artificial nutrition, artificial food, artificial animals, and finally, to artificial men and women.”.
