Writing As I Write. Tuesday, August 16, 2011. 22 } The Lost Has Now Been Found! So, if you remember back to Post #14. I introduced a story called " Billy". That I had written for a massive online writing contest called Field Report. Well, shortly after I had submitted said story, the proprietors of FR suffered some family tragedy. Despite being hailed as the best thing for writers since the invention of the actual written word. From every blog about wrting to MFing Time. Magazine, FR went down. Probably ...

Writing As I Write. Thursday, February 19, 2015. 31 } I Suck at Life. In the same month? How is this even a thing? Well, I'll tell you: I had way, WAY too much fun last night hanging out with people I've known forever, people I've met once, and people I've never met before. I mean, Wednesdays are usually fun in general, but every once in awhile, a Wednesday comes along that is super fun. Last night was one of those Wednesdays. Since last night was so much fun (did I mention that? Do you how frustrating i...

http://writingasiwrite.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Writing As I Write. Monday, June 27, 2011. 19 } "Are You Dead? I get this question a lot. I haven't posted a writing blog since September of '10. For goodness sake. No wonder everyone thinks I'm dead. To make matters even worse, I haven't been on Facebook since November! I guess I would think I was dead, too. Per usual, however, my little dancing creativity man has reared his beautiful head, propelling me in to a new project. You might be now asking yourself: "What happened to the old. It's still a giant...

http://writingasiwrite.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Writing As I Write. Friday, August 10, 2012. 26 } Poetry and Other Atrocities. Warning: this post is long and rant-tastic. It's also a great read. But, if you're short on time, feel free to jump past the diatribe. On poetry and skip straight on to the (gulp) poems I wrote. The quick and dirty is thus: I find poetry pretentious and overrated. ISBN 0-88147-008-2, for those of you that didn't read Post #15). Some of my first books were by Jack Prelutsky, Shel Silverstein, and Jeff Moss (some are even si...

Writing in the Ashes | Just another writing blog

Writing in the Ashes. Just another writing blog. October 30, 2010. I have been stewing on another story this past month, which isn’t a good idea when it’s crunch time at school. However, I couldn’t resist thinking about it so I will post a bit about it here. Recently in one of my classes, I reread Jane Austen’s. The Prof brought up the fact that. And I started thinking about a modern version, not of. Per say, but of the characters in the story. What would life be like for them in small-town 2010? Honestl...

August 04, 2015. What I love about the Pacific Northwest is that the landscape is so varied. We hiked up mountains, we walked on sandy beaches, we hiked through a rainforest, and we spend an afternoon climbing around rocks as we searched tide pools for starfish. Every morning, my husband and I would find a diner where we could eat a huge breakfast while we planned our day. "Shall we go hiking? Shall we find a beach? Where should we go for the sunset?
