writings by d.c.p.: The Scene

http://writingsbydcp.blogspot.com/2016/03/the-scene.html

Writings by d.c.p. Wednesday, March 23, 2016. I arrived at the scene. In case of a storm. To close the deal. When you showed up swinging. After a day of hard labor. You took the flask. And pounded what was left. Threw the empty toward the clouds. And drew in a cold breath. You are the type. Who would never admit defeat. In the presence of strangers. As the sky came falling down. 169; 2016 d.c.p. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Awesome Inc. theme. Powered by Blogger.

writings by d.c.p.: From a Distance

http://writingsbydcp.blogspot.com/2015/11/from-distance.html

Writings by d.c.p. Sunday, November 22, 2015. The star is lit. Plastered to the side. Of the snow-dusted mountain. Headlights navigate the switchbacks. A woozy back and forth dance. The night here is calm and silent,. Unlike the rest of the world. From a distance I imagine. Grabbing the top of the star. And dangling my legs down in free motion. Swinging from side to side. Body reliant on stubborn trembling arms. In line with the moon. Glowing in the light. And I do not care. I would be seen at all.

http://writingsbydcp.blogspot.com/2016/05/propel.html

Writings by d.c.p. Monday, May 2, 2016. The morning sun on my face. Creased by a silk pillowcase. Sometimes we take what we’re given -. Maybe it’s time to throw back. The excess of what we never really lacked. Last time I checked. There were no eyes. On the back of my head. So I’ll keep staring straight ahead. I raise my glass. 169; 2016 d.c.p. http://writingsbydcp.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-sound-of-rain.html

Writings by d.c.p. Saturday, May 23, 2015. The Sound of Rain. Left ear to window. Rain falls onto the wicker chair. Weathered from days of this. Violin on the tiny speaker. Perched on the porch swing. Only rain to fill the void. That will remain left. 169; 2015 d.c.p. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Awesome Inc. theme. Powered by Blogger.

Writings by C.R. Scott

Writings by C.R. Scott. When in doubt, the rule of threes is a rule that plays well with all of storytelling. When describing a thing? No more than three details. A character’s arc? Three beats. A story? Three acts. An act? Three sequences. A plot point culminating in a mystery of a twist? At least three mentions throughout the tale. This is an old rule, and a good one. It’s not universal but it’s a good place to start. Chuck Wendig (via writingquotes. Knowing How Geography Works. Once you have the landm...

Writings by Daniela

Lover of love. Student of life. Sunday, July 27, 2014. There are a lot of theories about this - show a lot of emotion to your children v. don't show much or anything at all. Some professionals think showing your children you are just as easily breakable as the next person shows your children you are not some heroic form of yourself and you aren't perfect. Showing them you too can have tears, hurt feelings and failures shows them you are human. Sowhat am I going to do? Be "stronger" or just be. My daughte...

Wind Whispers

January 19, 2014. Ang gusto ko lang, 'yong. First posted March 5, 2012. October 9, 2013. I Met Her Today. I was on the train when I saw her again. I started the morning the usual way: uninspired, yet rushing towards a job I hate; hungry, yet eating up more than enough information; dissatisfied, but comfortable with the daily grind. Most of all, I was tired, but with energy to last until the next payday. What else could I- -. Until she sat next to me. Is it because she was happy when I was not? Before I c...

writings by d.c.p.

Writings by d.c.p. Saturday, January 7, 2017. Where are you now? Where are you now? You look past me toward the kitchen sink inside. As you wait for an answer to your question. I pause, say nothing. And wonder briefly what you’re looking at. You’re usually preoccupied. Who will look your way;. Impressed by the gold and white hue. To the new wooden floor. And the placement of the roasted tomato. Surrounded by dainty edible flowers. So this is nothing new. Kids play in the yard below. I forget to answer.

Writings by Diane

Saturday, August 8, 2015. Hearing the here and now. Months ago, as I was driving, I happened to noticed that Canyon Hearing Aid Center. Was torn down to make way for more parking for the next door convenience store. For some reason, I felt sad about this new turn of events. Which was a fanciful building, true to its name. I also visited the Sands. 8217; kitchen facilities when I was attending UNLV. He explained as we age, we sometimes cannot process words as quickly as we used to when we were younger&#46...

Thursday, January 20, 2011. Act of forgiving; state of being forgiven. Disposition or willingness to forgive. 1 Forgiving is allowing another person to be human for faults, mistakes, or misdeeds. Forgetting is putting these behind you; they are no longer brought up and no longer remain a barrier to your relationship. 6 Forgiving is the highest form of human behavior that can be shown to another person. It is the opening up of yourself to that person to be vulnerable to being hurt or offended in the f...

Just another WordPress.com site. A Subliminal Conspiracy, 2012. November 2, 2012. Designed to influence the mind on levels other than conscious awareness and especially by presentation too brief to be consciously perceived’ is Webster’s definition of the word ‘subliminal’. In psychology, without any claim to knowing much about the field, there probably exists a method using subliminal tactics to influence the way people think.
