Rediscovering my creative soul
Life is too damn short – Create & Delineate
https://writingthemuse.wordpress.com/2014/02/05/life-is-too-damn-short
Rediscovering my creative soul. Life is too damn short. February 5, 2014. On Monday I lost a friend. Not figuratively. Literally. A dear friend passed away after battling leukaemia for the past three years. She was 27. Newly married. And I know this is complete cliche, but life is too short. Too short to live a life governed by fear. Too short to be so stuck in a rut that you call a comfort zone. And it is. Change is hard. But if you never change, you never grow. And life is too short. They tell the truth.
Words swirling, fingertips buzzing – Create & Delineate

Rediscovering my creative soul. Words swirling, fingertips buzzing. March 21, 2013. It’s amazing I restarted doing Morning Pages on Wednesday and already, three days in, my mind is buzzing with blog posts or perhaps blog rants. I have posts in my mind about the ridiculousness of body image and gender and the idea that writing about body image in relation to weight excludes men, because obviously. Men don’t care about their weight only muscles and penis size. But you work with words every day, I hear you ...
Dusting off the keyboard – Create & Delineate
https://writingthemuse.wordpress.com/2017/01/03/dusting-off-the-keyboard
Rediscovering my creative soul. Dusting off the keyboard. January 3, 2017. The last post I wrote here was from 2014. It’s now 2017. It’s been a while, to say the least. And I don’t know why I’m back since I don’t expect anyone to be reading this. But that was never the point really. Three years. A lot can happen in three years. IVF Lots of needles, lots of tears, lots of joy. An embryo. A baby. A toddler. Crazy times with my boy – he’s one bundle of energy! What shall I test my keyboard skills with?

Rediscovering my creative soul. The internet stole my brain. February 12, 2013. Electronic clutter takes up more space in my life than anything else sometimes. It’s ridiculous really, especially considering that all those bits and bytes are, essentially, tiny. And yet, all my bookmarks and feeds and emails crowd my mind and leave me little space for thoughts and debates and discussions. Masters of Creative Writing. Uncanny versions of myself. March 30, 2012. It throws you for a loop. It throws your u...
A little bit of friendly competition – Create & Delineate
https://writingthemuse.wordpress.com/2013/03/30/a-little-bit-of-friendly-competition
Rediscovering my creative soul. A little bit of friendly competition. March 30, 2013. March 30, 2013. Fine What a boring place to be. But apparently I am intensely motivated by competition but not overt competition. I don’t respond to someone pushing me to a target necessarily or yelling at me, bootcamp-style. No, I respond to the green-eyed monster. Writer, editor, wife, mother. I snatch moments to myself to read between nappy changes, work and chasing a toddler who is determined to destroy ALL THE ...

Meeting me | Staying on course
https://stayingoncourse.wordpress.com/about
Creating myself, step by step. Flash forward to 2005 when, after years of inactivity and sloppy eating, I was a bridesmaid at my friend’s wedding. Technically I still fit into a size 10 but the catch on the dress broke just before the wedding. I spent an hour running around desperately trying to find a safety pin (which is oh so sexy! Looking at the photos afterwards made me feel ill. But that wasn’t enough. Was the catalyst. Why? All because of one question:. When are you due? 8211; all things freelance!
