Last night we went to a worship concert put on by seven different local churches. It was supposed to start at 6 so we arrived at 6:30. It actually started at 8:25 (I checked the clock) with announcements. But by 8:35 we were on our way. Posted by I.S. Links to this post. Give Us Another Hand, This Time, By Accident.

First of all, allow me to say that "I'm home! I think you probably already knew that, but perhaps you didn't. Either way, feel free to call me or email me so we can chat face-to-face. That's what the church is all about! God doesn't want us to prove that we are right so that He can stand us up at the judgment day and say, "Look at my faithful servants who figured out My Words." No! Posted by I.S. Links to this post. Give Us Another Hand, This Time, By Accident.

How much do you think we paid for this pile of lettuce? You can guess how much we paid for the fresh Basil to if you want, though I'm not sure I remember. Posted by I.S. Links to this post. The good news: Fresh fruit is super cheap here when it is in season. The bad news: You can only really get fruit here when it is in season. Take a wild guess how much these grapefruit cost. Why I Will Never Be A Translator. Recently I was in Matthew chapter 2. When I got to verse 11, I kind of got confused. This is what I had:. They entered the house, they saw the child and Mary his mother, they stopped and knelt, they worshiped him. They opened their boxes of possessions, [and] give him gold and incense and which smelled good and which made them talk dizzily.". That third gift must have been something pretty strong! So it was something that smelled good and which they called "myrrh".

I'm only about 4 months behind on my life. So here, mostly in pictures, is our honeymoon:. Our cozy little cottage on the hill:. The lowest of the Dolgoch Falls:. Footpath above the falls:. The Valley below Penygader:. From the summit of Cadair Idris, highest peak of Penygader:. Castel y Bere, the ruins of a Welsh castle:. Hills around Castel y Bere:. Looking across the battlements:. Conwy castle and city walls in a torrential downpour:. Ruins of a Roman hill fort, now a sheep pasture! Posted by I.S.

I just had a typical ride home from visiting a local friend, so I thought I'd write about it. My friend lives 6 1/2 miles from my apartment. When we left his house at 7:10, we started by walking 3/4 mile to the bus stop. Along the way we stopped several times to greet various friends, relatives, or important members of the community who were sitting outside their houses along the road. Traffic was amazingly light today, the result of a major holiday that sent most people out of the city, so we made it to...

Remember the parable about building on sand? Jesus warned against building our lives on an unsure foundation, comparing it to a house built on sand. The driver was in the cab when it took the plummet. He amazingly walked away unharmed. We praised God that no one was hurt, then started snapping pictures! Posted by I.S. Links to this post. I seem to be celebrating many new beginnings right now. Many of my friends are having babies or getting engaged. Even my best friend has just gotten engaged, and she got engaged to me! I praise God for all of these new beginnings, all of these big reminders that He is a God who is always at work. He is always building, always creating, always growing something, sometimes more obviously than others. Posted by I.S. Links to this post. Two weeks ago my girlfriend and I got engaged. We told our parents, ...
