Spring Planting and Rome II | yarnellwwoof

https://yarnellwwoof.wordpress.com/2012/03/29/spring-planting-and-rome-ii

March 29, 2012. Spring Planting and Rome II. Last week we finished planting the high tunnel. Soon the tomato plants there will need to be tied up. This week we planted one billion potatoes. The larger grape vines are starting to shoot out new green vines, and wild asparagus is popping out all over the pastures. But still there is no rain. We really have only had short rains twice in the past 3 weeks. And we made it back to Rome, this time to visit Vatican City. Laquo; Rome I. Farmers’ Market, Italy.

Rome I | yarnellwwoof

https://yarnellwwoof.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/rome-i

March 23, 2012. Blue flower next to vineyard. The vineyard work is finished. Oh, and we went to ROME! A life-long dream for both of us since we took Latin together in the 9th grade. We couldn’t remember enough Latin to really understand anything, but we did know enough Italian to find more gelato and pizza. The Pantheon is probably the most amazing building I have ever seen. We are going back to Rome tomorrow, this time to visit Vatican City. Spring Planting and Rome II. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

WWOOF, world-wide opportunities on organic farms. We came across this organization a few years ago, and it sounded perfect. We could travel all around the world staying and working on small organic farms. In turn we receive knowledge and experience in different types of farming. Plus we get to meet interesting people and see beautiful places. We were both sold on the idea. Here’s a link to some of the postings Cynthia made last year about local foods:. Safe travels, warm sunshine, and good companionship,.

Last Weekend in Rome | yarnellwwoof

https://yarnellwwoof.wordpress.com/2012/04/23/last-weekend-in-rome

April 23, 2012. Last Weekend in Rome. Our final weekend in Italy we spend two nights in Rome exploring the city, eating some amazing food, and celebrating our time in Italy. I wanted to see the Colosseum more than any other site in Rome. I was completely in awe thinking about when and how the Colosseum was built, and the events that occurred there. Laquo; New Heights. Monday, October 28, 2013. Wednesday, March 30, 2011. I have stopped to think about this for a while, because, as you know, I do not really envision myself making cute hats much. What I envision doing is: intricate pieces and tapestries. I also envision doing more and more of the plarn enhanced pieces, but not "scrubbies" or the like. I want to make things of beauty and inventiveness. I do like making hats, but not cute ones.). Thursday, January 27, 2011. Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Tuesday, April 6, 2010.

because wool fixes everything | Getting my knit on

Because wool fixes everything. Getting my knit on. Cheers to Another Year! August 6, 2015. Its so hard to believe, but my innaugural year of being an Indie Dyer is coming to a close! It’s been a very exciting year for me, from my first skein, to my first sale, to learning how to do stripes, to creating the infamous No 2. Pencil socks! Some of the most memorable things this past year have been a wee incident where wool caught fire in my dyeing microwave…that smell is unforgettable, haha! June 24, 2015.

Yarn Ends

My Ongoing Quest to Make Use of the Stash. Sunday, May 8, 2011. I'm a real stasher/hoarder of craft supplies, and I'm on a quest this year to make use of what I have rather than purchasing more. It's a real treasure trove, very exciting to brainstorm ways to make use of my materials. Among my sub-stashes is an incredible collection of felt. I have inexpensive big-box craft-store felt (which, honestly, I don't like), as well as the wonderful saturated colors of real wool felt from the Purl Soho. The patte...
