YARNGEAR: Knitting, Crochet, Spinning, Weaving, Looming, and Dyeing

YARNGEAR: Knitting, Crochet, Spinning, Weaving, Looming, and Dyeing. This is a jounal about my adventures with yarn. Monday, August 03, 2015. Cricket Rigid Heddle Loom for Card and Tablet Weaving. I hacked up my Cricket rigid heddle loom and its stand to create a continuous, advancing, circular warp. The warp is wrapped around the entire loom and the bottom bar of the stand to make approximately a 2 meter warp. The actual length depends on the angle of the loom in the stand. Alternatively, tie the ends o...

Curvaceous Tempting Knit-A-Long: Improved Eyelets and Large Size Changes

http://temptingcurves.blogspot.com/2005/07/improved-eyelets-and-large-size.html

Monday, July 25, 2005. Improved Eyelets and Large Size Changes. I made a ragland version of Tempting. For my DD. While making it, I was also making eyelet-ribbing socks, and the perfect eyelet pattern for Tempting dawned on me. K2, YO, P2-tog, K2, P2-tog, YO* Repeat. If you make the large size, your eyelet pattern will be offset by 4 sts. For some reason, all the other sizes have a multiple of 8 sts, except the large. I'd rewrite the large size as follows:. Join Sleeves to Body. Posted by Mei at 4:55 PM.

Curvaceous Tempting Knit-A-Long: June 2005

http://temptingcurves.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 23, 2005. I love the way this sweater looks and fits, and how easy it was to knit. I like easy projects I can knit while engaging in another activity like conversation or watching TV. I made the large size, but stopped short of all the length schematics. I just kept trying it on as I knit - the body to 14" and the sleeves to 3.5" and then 4" after the join before starting the eyelet row. About halfway through the body, I discovered via Knitty. Hommikul avastasin aga, et pooltele lehtedele on ribad sisse tõmmatud ning õisi on näritud :S Ühesõnaga Niru hoolsalt närib lehti ja tõmmab neid katki ja Kessu krõmpsutab õisi :P Nad ise on endaga rahul. Sellel ajal kui mina heegeldan, magab üks nott magusat und. Kiisudel on ilusad kohevad sabad kui nad koera näevad :). Tilaa: Lähetä kommentteja (Atom). McCall’s 6750 : nope.

Life in Sandyland: September 2008

http://mylifeinsandyland.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 26, 2008. I would have posted this much sooner had a I not forgotten my password. SOOO, my boys just finished 3 weeks of hockey school. To say it wasn't exhausting (for ME) would be a lie! Especially when my oldest son kept pretending to fall asleep and when he'd "wake up" he kept saying that he wished his dad was home cuz "he knows what he's doing". OMG, are you kidding me? So I got them to the rink and had them all geared up and on the ice with 5 minutes to spare! It was all going so ...

A Singletons Adventures in Knitting, Love and Life. Monday, October 31, 2005. What if the Monster Under My Bed decides to grab me. What if Michael Myers is under the bed? Or what if my bed starts shaking and then my head spins around and I throw up pea soup? Oh dear, I'm not that flexible and I really don't like pea soup. I made mucho progress with the hat but I'm still running short on yarn. I think maybe I might have used some of the yarn from this skein to fringe my scarf maybe? Handworks is closed on...

I haven't spoken to anyone who directly knit from this book, yet, but Amazon reviews this quite favorably. Why not try it yourself?

Yarn Gathering's blog

Sunday, 6 June 2010. I saw these on Woolly Wormhead's blog and I thought it would be a good bit of fun for myself and the girls to show off which badges we've earned and explain why. In no particular order, I will start off. OK, so I've not had a pattern published in Vogue, but I was mentioned in the Spring/Summer one as Knit Camp is this summer's hot ticket, and Knit Camp is referenced in the current issue too. Good enough, me thinks, for me to earn this badge. Lace knitting. Another enough said! And me...

Yarn Gauge Guide | Welcome to Yarn Gauge Guide

The Yarn Gauge Guide. Anyone who has been knitting for any length of time has found that the standard range gauge given for a yarn is never accurate. Differences in fiber content and the way that a yarn has been manufactured can cause the gauge of yarn to vary greatly between each yarn of the same weight. So What is the Yarn Gauge Guide? When Can I Start Using the Site? We know you're excited by this and so are we! Other fun features we think you'll enjoy!

YarnGeek | geekin' on yarn, parenting, & whatever else comes up.

Geekin' on yarn, parenting, and whatever else comes up. Plus la change…. It is, roughly, the tenth anniversary of this blog. Oh, Internets. So many ponderings, so few recent postings. This past weekend, I attended the 2014 Maryland Sheep and Wool festival. This annual event is a marker of sorts for the calendar of my knitting life, and although I can’t attend every year, there is that mix of familiar and new each time I go that triggers a sort of fibery nostalgia. yarngeek | Musings & rantings of a yarn addict.

Yarngeek Musings and rantings of a yarn addict. Musings and rantings of a yarn addict. March 23, 2015. It’s been raining steadily here for about four days and it’s starting to wear on all of us a bit. There’s lots of things to go and do for indoor play, but outdoor play has been very limited. When my little guy was starting to melt down after a bout of play on the deck, I knew it was time for the 4pm smoothie. Do you know about the 4pm smoothie? It’s a twofer! 4 bananas, frozen. 1-2 cups frozen pineapple.
