Sometimes I Write for Real. Friday, March 21, 2014. Still, this wasn’t enough; so Royal added to his workday the duties of a delivery boy for the James Shelmardine Hat Company—Esther sewing on the hat bands at night. Later, Royal worked as a cash boy and general helper at the palatial Auerbach’s Department Store. What change did Royal crave in 1890 at age 30? What made him consider leaving Salt Lake City—the only home he’d ever known? Elizabeth proclaimed that no place in Salt Lake City would feel like &...

Your Nav Bar Here. There are a few things in my life that I don't question. For example:. Sometimes you need to you need to call your mother to tell her you love her and not to ask for money or cry. Sometimes you need to pretend that Dirty Dancing is not your favorite movie. It's a survival skill. Sometimes you need to eat cupcakes with mini oreos on top. Sometimes you just need to stop counting, especially when it comes to mini cupcakes. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogs I Crush On. A Mom and a Camera.

Sometimes I Write for Real. Friday, April 25, 2014. Because I love looking at and sharing family pictures, here are mine from Easter:. Ethan and his cousin. After the backyard egg hunt. Look at how much these two beautiful cousins have grown in a year. 2014 is above, and. Here's 2013. Apparently, they really love sitting on the back step to look at their Easter loot. Almost an identical picture—12 months apart. Maddie in her Easter dress (the doll got one, too). Heading to church Easter morning. I love h...

Sometimes I Write for Real: January 2015
http://douglaurel.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sometimes I Write for Real. Sunday, January 4, 2015. He was calm and still, just watching and observing a brown horse all alone in a big pasture. This surprised me. Ethan is scared of so many things—why wasn't the sight of this enormous horse walking toward him making him run for cover? But Ethan just watched. Calm and quiet. Connecting. Ew, horse spit. Hard at work for the horse. Ethan meticulously picked grass for over an hour. I thought about it for a minute. But then, snapped to. "No! With even your ...

Sometimes I Write for Real. Monday, May 12, 2014. Not a bad message from one photograph. The oldest 4-generation picture in my family. The young boy is my grandfather, and the three women represent his three-generation maternal line. A 4-generation picture on my dad's side. Sometimes I Write for Real. Sunday, March 29, 2015. Me: "We found an Easter dress for Maddie at Costco.". My sister: "So did we. What does Maddie's dress look like? Me: "I kind of forgot. Pink with something.". My sister: "Huh. I wonder if it's the same dress? Adults would be mortified to show up to an event wearing the exact-same outfit. But 7-year-old girls? This isn't the first time this has unintentionally happened, either. It occurred at Easter 2011:. And again at Christmas 2011:. Do I have a story?

Photographs and Photography Tips by A Mom and a Camera: December 2008
http://momandcamera.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 27, 2008. Had to include this one just for the expression. If you have ever been the person in front during a toboggan ride- you can sympathize with my daughter in this picture. My sister ate a little snow. This wasn't her worst wreck of the day from the stories I heard afterward. My husband keeping the baby warm. The baby and I only lasted about 20 minutes before we warmed up in the car. After sledding and lunch, we played some games. . . . Ate some prizes. . . . We did attempt to tak...

Love Notes: Bath
http://toicecreamwithlove.blogspot.com/2013/06/bath.html
Your Nav Bar Here. Let's real talk about England. London was straight crazy. There is so much commotion. So many people to not run into. So many cookies to eat. So logically, to create balance, Eric and I escaped into the countryside of England. On recommendation of the family we stayed with, we stopped in this little village called Castle Combe. Right there in the middle of town we found an old church and some cake for sale by the side of the road. June 7, 2013 at 1:56 PM. So Long, Farewell.
