Thursday, April 3, 2008. Why is the sky blue? This project was the only one that i was confused on it took me a while to figure out exactly what was needed. But after i kind of got an idea. making the design to repeat on the squares was pretty fun, i think that was my favorite part and i like the fact that the design didn't have restrictions or it would have been a bore. Visual Concepts (how creative): Color
http://maddiemarshall.blogspot.com/2008/01/color.html
Visual Concepts (how creative). Wednesday, January 30, 2008. I had never noticed that color could be used for such different meanings in such different ways. I have always chosen colors based on what looked attractive to me, not for what mood I want to express or what I am representing. Now I understand color a little better and can start using it in a more thought-out way. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Visual Concepts (how creative): And How Does That Make You Feel?
http://maddiemarshall.blogspot.com/2008/02/and-how-does-that-make-you-feel.html
Visual Concepts (how creative). Wednesday, February 27, 2008. And How Does That Make You Feel? Blue is used mostly for a calm, mellow color. In class when we all did the mood/temps blue was always used for calm/gloomy/bored/cold etc. I found some other common associations here (http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color symbolism and psychology) and wanted to put it to the test. Is the majority of people’s associations with blue calm/cold/trusting/sky/ocean etc? Chris: Sapphires, or better yet your eyes. A lot o...

My group, for this project, explored a supermarket to find colors and how they can send not just one message but many. Even thow both of these items are the same color they send different messages to people. One says soft and soothing while the other says fun and exciting. Color is very interesting in the way that it can change our opinions and have our brain prejudge object before washing with them ...

Thursday, September 13, 2007. I also liked drawing exercise. It was interesting to think about what line and shape really were. . Images B and C are lines. Images A and D are shapes. A line is a mark definite ending point. A shape is made up of lines that connect into a form. . Wednesday, September 5, 2007. In this piece of work, there ...

In our society today everyone is told that they need to be different and stand out. Most people choose clothes, music or phones but no matter what America still wants more. Something more that a person can do to stand out from the crowd is to pay about 12,000 dollars for some murdered out Pimpstar picture rims. These rims now have color and pictures. For the fir...

Playing with Behaviors of Everyday Life. Thursday, October 18, 2007. I'll come out at say it: I don't like Duchamp. Never have, probably never will. His "Nude Descending a Staircase" was great, new, and really a great study of motion with modernism (which I'm not a huge fan of in the first place). A shovel as art?

I Can't Make Sense Of This. Monday, January 28, 2008. Color changes the way we perceive objects. Corporate companies know this and use it to their advantage. A couple examples: the color red is used to catch attention (stop signs, bike reflectors) and the color green is used to represent calmness, nature, healthy things. . Color has everything to do with product design and is an important part of how we as customers perceive things. . Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
