About Us: April 2013
http://mousebouche.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 17, 2013. A cake for Spring (and Breakfast). Which is how I found myself making this cake. It seemed a perfect compromise for me: practically a one-bowl wonder, nicely unfussy but pretty in presentation, not too sweet as balanced by the sour lemon, and not too healthy (despite the yogurt) as balanced by the copious amounts of cream dolloped and cascading down the slice. And a very welcome taste of a very welcome new season. (There are bursting buds on the tree outside my window! Preheat ...

Friday, April 11, 2014. Sometimes a Cookie is Just a Cookie. Do you want to hear more about this? I'm annoying myself here. The 18 lb weight enjoys some avocado. And really, what is all of that nonsense anyway. PS Speaking of inspiration, I will forever love this interview. Chocolate Brownie Cookies (Courtesy of Bon Appetit). 3 cups gluten-free powdered sugar. 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 1 teaspoon kosher salt. 2 large egg whites. 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped. About Us: I am Genius, and So Can You.
http://mousebouche.blogspot.com/2014/04/i-am-genius-and-so-can-you.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2014. I am Genius, and So Can You. I have no remaining physical evidence of the miracle which took place in my apartment on Easter Sunday. No image appearing on a slice of toast, no time lapse photography showing a glass of wine disappeared by an elusive Elijiah (see what I did there? No, not even a single blurry cell phone photo in which one can barely make out the outline of a figure backlit in a halo of warm afternoon sunlight. Oh wait, there is a blurry photo:. Can you see it?
About Us: Making History (and Lunch)
http://mousebouche.blogspot.com/2013/07/making-history-and-lunch.html
Friday, July 12, 2013. Making History (and Lunch). What does making history look like? Well, when it comes to us, it looks a little something like this:*. And then, this:. A rehearsal with the Hart Sisters always features snacks. This cornucopia brought to the table by our fearless director and honorary sibling, JMK, who arrived bearing an overly large CSA delivery. The cherries may or may not have made it into the play.). Our first time together on stage. In another bit of narrative/history/significance...
About Us: September 2013
http://mousebouche.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 13, 2013. It's been quite a ride. Six months. And I thought I was big THEN. Almost all of these "don'ts" have mixed evidence to support their ban ( this woman just wrote a whole book. Oh, but those churros were worth it. The point is, I've been thinking about my experience eating during pregnancy a lot lately, mostly because a) thinking about eating is what I do, pregnant or not, and b) because pretty much the second most popular question I'm asked after, "how do you feel? Who is to say...

And Vitamin vodka. Let me recommend strongly our brilliant new concoction of ……………well, why don’t we call it a Martha’s Mary? Pickled okra for garnish. Freshly ground black pepper. Please fin...

Summers Bounty: Pluot Cardamom Chia Seed Jam. 13 August, 2015. Welcome back to another edition of Summer’s Bounty. Today we are talking about pluots. Plu-what you say? Take a knee. It’s about to get real nerdy up in here. A pluot is a cross between an apricot and a plum. Speaking numbers, it’s 75% plum and 25% percent apricot. Although, some argue that it’s 60% plum and 40% apricot. The debate is real; take a look at this article here. Like the no-churn ice cream. Swirl the Pluot Cardamom Chia Seed Jam i...

Friday, January 18, 2013. Homemade broccoli cheddar soup. Mmmmm, broccoli cheddar soup. To me, this soup is like a time machine. It brings me right back to my college days when there was a Panera Bread IN my dorm. Whoever thought up that idea is an absolute genius! I'm not going to lie. there was a stretch of time when you could find me in that Panera at least once a week. And after a night of. Umm studying. it was the perfect spot for a pick me up. So thats what I did! Here's what you'll need:. 2 1/2 cu...
