The changes in legislation mean a social worker who comes into the home to assess the needs of a vulnerable person now has a duty to ask about how their care needs affects the rest of the family. Welcome to the Young Carers Project. The project offers services, support and information to young carers in Dundee aged 8-16 years. The Upbeet project works with young adult carers aged 15-30. A young carer is a child or young person who has a caring role and/or is affected emotionally by a family member’s long-term illness, disability, mental health or alcohol/addiction problems.
