Our clients had a large and promising urban space – very overgrown, with a disused pond in the middle. They were managing to grow some fruit and vegetables, but wanted a dedicated productive garden as well as an ornamental garden near the house. They had quite a number of roses and bulbs they wanted to keep, so part of the brief was to design planting around the existing plants. Hoggin and gravel garden for sunny area; Metal arches to link terrace to rest of the garden. Cistus, Anthemis ‘Lemon Ice’, Sysinrinchium, Lavender, Rosemary for the gravel beds; Clematis alpina ‘Ruby’ for the arches; Dahlias and bulbs for seasonal interest. New ironwork arches as seen from above.
