Footprints Across Africa: Sachets of Things!
http://lisadalimonte.blogspot.com/2012/03/sachets-of-things.html
View my complete profile. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. One of many things that I love about Ghana is the ability to purchase certain items from any given location. Another favourite sachet option is your choice of liquor in a sachet. I like to opt for sachets of gin which can be purchased for 50 pesewas each (about 40 cents) and mixed with a cold coke or sprite from a bottle. This is my favourite option aside from Ghana's popular beer, Star. Coffee, Tea and Milo:. March 7, 2012 at 6:42 PM. Part 4 - Namibia.
Footprints Across Africa: The Azonto
http://lisadalimonte.blogspot.com/2012/05/azonto.html
View my complete profile. Monday, May 14, 2012. In a few different blog posts from my most recent trip to Ghana, I mentioned the Azonto dance a few times but never actually explained what it is or how you do it. A few of us from YCI who were on project together in February and March decided to hit the streets of Accra and start asking random people if they would be willing to teach us some Azonto dance steps. Check out our YouTube video "How to Azonto - A Lesson for Obruni's". May 14, 2012 at 11:42 PM.
Footprints Across Africa: Wedding Crashers, Ghanaian Style
http://lisadalimonte.blogspot.com/2012/03/wedding-crashers-ghanaian-style.html
View my complete profile. Monday, March 12, 2012. Wedding Crashers, Ghanaian Style. In Ghana, the church service is similar to ours in the sense that the couple takes their vows in front of friends and family and then proceed to the reception where the bride and groom take photos with guests, cut the cake, pop champagne and of course, dance! Fred's car decorated for the Bride and Groom. Two obruni's and the Bride and Groom. Cutting of the cake. Entertaining the children with our dance moves! View of Tabl...
Footprints Across Africa: It seemed inevitable
http://lisadalimonte.blogspot.com/2012/03/it-seemed-inevitable.html
View my complete profile. Friday, March 16, 2012. I knew it had to happen sooner or later. After all of my time on this continent and all of my long bus rides, I have been rather fortunate in the fact that a) I have not been in a bus accident and b) the bus has never broken down. I finally experienced the latter yesterday. As I watched cars and buses whiz past us, my only thought was that at this pace a 4 hour trip will take all night. Take the good with the bad! May 10, 2012 at 12:43 PM. Why am I gazing...

Which is the smaller island to the north east of Unguja which, together make up the Zanzibar Archipelago. Map of Pemba highlighting the 3 towns of ZANGOC operation: Chake, Wete and Micheweni. So I drafted a short proposal and budget and submitted it to YCI and in June it was approved as my first business trip! Airplane shot of the Cost of Pemba. On Friday eve...

http://lisadalimonte.blogspot.com/2011/11/centre-of-east-africa.html
View my complete profile. Friday, November 11, 2011. The Center of East Africa! Nairobi.where the magic happens! Living in Zanzibar, it is easy to get wrapped up in your own little world and I forgot how much I miss big cities. Nairobi.or rather, what I have seen of it thus far is pretty alright! When I was in Kenya back in 2007 studying at Kenyatta University. In Zanzibar that would never happen so it's very refreshing to be able to walk down the street in peace! KU Post Modern Library. Footprints Across Africa: Week 3 - Updates from the Field
http://lisadalimonte.blogspot.com/2011/11/week-3-updates-from-field.html
View my complete profile. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Week 3 - Updates from the Field. Week 3 of my AMREF M&E course proved to be very long and tiring as it began with all 7 groups completing their evaluation tool in order to prepare for our field evaluation day at Saint John’s Community Centre (SJCC) on Tuesday. As promised, here are my reflections from the field evaluation in Pumwani District. I was able to relax.because God was in control! FGD with direct beneficiaries of the SJCC program. On top of t...
Footprints Across Africa: The 4 letter word (most) North American's shy away from
http://lisadalimonte.blogspot.com/2012/05/4-letter-word-most-north-americans-shy.html
View my complete profile. Thursday, May 10, 2012. The 4 letter word (most) North American's shy away from. POOP That's right, I said it! It's so true that most North American's shy away from talking about poop, why is that? While I still haven't discovered the answer, what I have found out is that when you live and work overseas the poop "shyness" disappears! Anyway, enough of the talk, here is the graphic on poop that I was given. Enjoy and most importantly.DISCUSS :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Igreja Adventista de Pq. Claudia. Falarei alguns n...

THE ALATENUMO | Social Contrarianism
THOUGHTS ON MAKING LONDON MORE INCLUSIVE. Rt Hon Boris Johnson. The Queen’s Walk. I am also glad to see that our beloved party has got the ball rolling. It is barely two weeks since we got elected and already we plan to cut the Disabled Access to Work Fund and have announced a new tough regime on migrants. Hopefully if we can starve the migrants by withholding their salaries. The level of poverty is on the rise. We have the homeless littering the streets and thousands of people living on food banks&#...
