3 Months in Ghana

3 Months in Ghana. Thursday, January 14, 2010. 5:35PM, on a Thursday. I'll just share two more experiences before I quit for the day. I hope you have all enjoyed the chronicles of my time in Ghana. I am going to save final thoughts and reflections on my experience for when I am home and have had time to digest everything. Thank you to everyone who has supported me. Despite all the challenges and frustrations, every minute has been worth the struggle. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. 10:53AM, on a Tuesday.

Between them lies a large, open square flanked by imposing castle walls on each side. Signs for the male and female slave dungeons. The passageway to the female cell block as well as to the point of entry for newly captured slaves. Soldier’s quarters above the cells. Unfortunately, the adjoining room to which the cell was thereby connected happene...

3 Months in Ghana: 5:18PM, on a Tuesday

http://3monthsinghana.blogspot.com/2009/12/518pm-on-tuesday.html

3 Months in Ghana. Tuesday, December 29, 2009. 5:18PM, on a Tuesday. JD, the baby in my homestay, came down with malaria last week. He was feverish, weak, and unwilling to eat. They took him to the hospital several times and came back with new medicines each time; it turned out that not only did he have malaria, he also had an eye infection, a sore in his mouth, and a new tooth coming in. Poor thing! He’s much better now, though he still has a cough and has started itching at his ear for some reason.

Three months in America

Three months in America. Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Highway One to San Francisco. Despite ongoing military action in the Middle East and the crescendo of a landmark presidential election, one issue above all else was all consuming for Americans this summer. In the land were car is king, escalating oil prices doggedly dominated the news, consistently dishing out distress to the gas guzzling public. That is until you hit Highway One at least. Upon leaving a rather macabre fog-filled San Simeon, we were qu...

Three Months in Brazil

Three Months in Brazil. Sunday, December 13, 2009. He was drop-dead gorgeous and incredibly sexy in the way he carried himself. I was surprised when he asked me out. When he kissed me on the dance floor it was like a scene in a bad romantic comedy - I forgot about my mojito and slowly spilled the entire contents on the floor. I knew I was signing up for trouble since I wasn't staying, and I didn't care. It was worth it. I still keep in touch with a few friends from Brazil. Luana, Bibiana, Ricardo&#46...

3 months in England - Tandy Graham/photos by John Graham. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Last day in London - first day home! When I left you last, we were on our way out the door for our last day in London. Ellen and Philip had already left to go to the Victoria and Albert Museum to see the exhibit on quilting that I told her about when I went in June sometime - or was it May? I'll have to read my own blogs to figure that one out! Got home and finished packing. I had asked Ellen and Philip to bring one o...

3 months in the promised land. Just another WordPress.com site. Dani and Sauls farewell. Last night The British Ambassador, Matthew Gould and his wife Celia hosted a farewell party for Dani and Saul ( as they are going back to England). The evening was held at the British embassy, with tables set up in the garden. On arrival a guard checked that we were on the guest list and showed us in. One of Dani’s friends, Maria was there. She is so warm and funny! Supper was delicious (there were little menus on th...
