Scott Fitzgerald was trying to deliver to the readers of The Great Gatsby. Is the point befitting for today’s time. It’s funny because Myrtle would leave George in a heartbeat for Tom, but he would not do the same for her mainly because she doesn’t meet her standards. Myrtle is a prime example of people that are corrupt by money, selfishness’s, and stupidity.
