IT IS WHAT IT IS!: January 2009
http://cjandkim.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
IT IS WHAT IT IS! Our Family - The unedited version. Monday, January 19, 2009. The Year of the Ox. If you are at all familiar with Chinese New Year you will understand that at the Roberts house 2009 is the Year of the Cow, the Year of the Chicken, and the Year of the Dog. For the past couple of years Keaton has wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps. We were able to buy some land behind our house, get it fenced, and now we have cows. You can't by just one, according to CJ, so we have two. Ashley and Adr...

IT IS WHAT IT IS!: The Big Guy Turns 37
http://cjandkim.blogspot.com/2009/03/birthday-boy.html
IT IS WHAT IT IS! Our Family - The unedited version. Thursday, March 19, 2009. The Big Guy Turns 37. Later we met with some friends and the missionaries for a discussion. Kim (not me) brought a chocolate cream pie and the missionaries brought balloons. CJ really appreciated their thoughtfulness. CJ and I started dating when he was sixteen, so WOW, that's quite a few birthdays together. I hope he had a great day because we think he is a pretty great DAD! CJ pretty much embraces everything whole-heartedly!

IT IS WHAT IT IS!: December 2008
http://cjandkim.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
IT IS WHAT IT IS! Our Family - The unedited version. Monday, December 1, 2008. So last week at school the annual turkey trot was held. The older kids have to run a mile and the younger kids have to run 1/2 mile. Kennedy didn't want us to come and watch her so she wouldn't tell us what time her grade was running. We went anyway and got there just in time to see her cross the finish line. She came in 4th place for her grade! Way to go Kennedy! Way to go Klayson! I was so sad that I missed it.

Jake got invited to go with a friend to watch field hockey. I don't know much about what he saw, but he said it was great! He was the first in our family get to see something. Wednesday, August 13. What a coincidence to be there at the very same time they were filming some short litle segments to be shown in Utah! After the swimming was over, we walked back ...

A Postcard From Our House: June 2008
http://apostcardfromourhouse.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 8, 2008. Last week I went to the gigantic fabric market in Beijing on a treasure hunt to find some tiny white buttons and some wide pink and green ribbon. (I'll bet you can guess why I was looking for that! The market is the supplier for lots of manufacturers, so they deal in large quantities and hardly anyone there speaks any English. It's an adventure to go there! Along the way I had an interesting experience that I've been thinking about ever since. Is one of the few words that I know tha...

A Postcard From Our House: May 2008
http://apostcardfromourhouse.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 20, 2008. As you all know, a week ago on May 12 there was a 7.9 earthquake in Sichuan province here in China. That's about 900 miles from Beijing, but it was felt here too. (The newspaper said it was a 3.9 in Beijing.). I wasn't worried because (1) The plane had just landed and so obviously the runways were fine. How bad could it have been? 2) The school said everything was okay. Right now, eight days later, the China Daily newspaper is reporting:. 34,073 confirmed dead. It's an absolutely m...

Walker, Kristin, Corbin and Wyatt. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. I gave my boys coordinating ties for Christmas. Don't they look handsome? This is the day in December that Wyatt was blessed. All of Wyatt's aunts, uncles, and cousins were able to come and celebrate with us! Our Wyatt bear is growing so fast. He was over 17 pounds at the last weigh-in. He jabbers a lot and is learning to use his hands. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Where in the world? View my complete profile. Brad and Mo 1. FAB up the flab.

A Postcard From Our House: August 2007
http://apostcardfromourhouse.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 17, 2007. There's kind of an interesting thing going on in Beijing this weekend (Friday, August 17 - Monday, August 20). In preparation for the Olympics, they are trying to see how much they will be able to clean up the pollution in the air- to make a better impression, I guess. As kind of a trial run, today and Sunday only cars that have a license plate ending in an. Number are allowed to drive. Saturday and Monday only cars that have a license plate ending in an. Life in Beijing: Overloaded
http://lifeinbj.blogspot.com/2008/04/overloaded.html
Tuesday, April 15, 2008. One of the things I enjoy seeing in Beijing is all of the trucks and bicycles that are overloaded. For some reason, it never ceases to amaze me to see how much people can fit on a truck, a tractor, or a bicycle. I appreciate the creativity they use to see how much they can carry at one time. I have to admire someone who can fit that much on a bike and keep on texting while going down the road. He probably has a large load like that every day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
