Filtering the noise - Spaghetti Factory Mobile

Even assuming Twitter doesn’t go all evil on us, there are going to have to be some changes even to maintain the current level of useability (whatever your opinion of that). Even if the userbase doesn’t change, the rising popularity of linked apps will result in a steady traffic increase.

View from the Spaghetti Factory. Wed, May. 4th, 2011, 10:05 am. Originally published at View from the Spaghetti Factory. Please leave any comments. Both campaigns have annoyed me for different reasons, but with Yes2AV it’s mostly been a case of failing to hammer the point home. Some of the explanations have been dull, unimaginative and over-complicated. If it hadn’t been for a couple of viral online graphics, the Yes campaign would have been dead in the water by now…. Let’s AV a beer. Do The simplest arg...

Custom Transcription. Work has been a bit hectic recently, and I’ve been neglecting all this sort of online social stuff. Anyway…. Noah Knew, WeCanKnow! Christ’s Return on Judgment Day: May 21, 2011. How are they going to fit it all around the commuter rush? I find it surprising that anyone still follows the Apocalypticist.

Uncategorized Archives - Neil McDougall's Official Website

http://www.neilmcdougall.com/uncategorized

This is the website of Neil McDougall, a musician/blogger/podcaster/bookie from Ayrshire. A preamble ramble type thing. It’s been a while since I properly wrote something on here. How are you? I apologise in advance for the general scattyness of this piece, it’s mostly me getting my thoughts down on ‘paper’ and getting a bit of discussion/feedback going from friends/followers who have more travel experience than myself. Just as well I don’t have a fear of flying – far from it. Hell, I use...Leave a comme...

Auto-pilot lick: ukmg

http://ukmg.livejournal.com/3999.html

Regarding what we were just discussing in #ukmg about how one person's easy no-brainer lick can be awkward for someone else, here's mine. If I pick up a guitar and noodle, I automatically end up playing something a bit like this. Post a new comment. Anonymous comments are disabled in this journal. We will log you in after post. Fiddly: ukmg

http://ukmg.livejournal.com/4563.html

Going to the opposite extreme, I came up with a lick that's very much *not* an auto-pilot thing. It's a fairly typical Yngwie-esque pedal point pattern, but I made the melody line (the first note in each group of four) more complex than normal. Oh, and it was an opportunity to try my evaluation copy of Sibelius 5. ;-). Post a new comment. Anonymous comments are disabled in this journal. We will log you in after post. Instant Japanese: ukmg

http://ukmg.livejournal.com/3502.html

I may have mentioned this before. I really like the Hirajoshi scale. There seems to be some disagreement over what this old Japanese scale actually is, but here's how I interpret it. Root, 2nd, minor 3rd, 5th, minor 6th. Here, in E. Some people would say that's just one of the Hirajoshi's modes, rather than the actual parent scale, but that's the scale I want to talk about, whatever its correct name! Post a new comment. Picking your way out of a rut: ukmg

http://ukmg.livejournal.com/1555.html

Picking your way out of a rut. One of the problems with fast picking exercises is that you end up locking into their simplistic patterns, giving you a deceptively flattering impression of how good you are. When you return to the "real world", your picking will probably not be as good as that comfortable old exercise made you think you were. So, I reckon a good way of counteracting this is to add rhythmic variety to your exercises. Here's an example. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post.

Hybrid picking lick for Nick: ukmg

http://ukmg.livejournal.com/4609.html

Hybrid picking lick for Nick. Nick was talking about hybrid picking on his Guitritus blog, and it reminded me of how the technique has gradually crept into my playing, despite a total lack of conscious effort on my part. This is one of those auto-pilot licks I play when I pick up a guitar. Post a new comment. Anonymous comments are disabled in this journal. We will log you in after post. Me Myself & I

Me Myself and I. Monday, January 11, 2010. A couple of days ago I came across this article that left me speechless. It was an article about the World's Friendliest Countries. To my surprise, Malaysia placed 5th amongst countries like US, Briton, Australia Etc. Incompetent fools that can't even spell the country right! Anyways, isn't it 'kinda' cool to know that M-A-L-A-Y-S-I-A is listed as one of the top 5 friendliest countries in the world. Malaysia Boleh. Kita boleh membakar gereja kan! Anyways, 2009 i...

Welcome to Leaders in Light, Stained Glass design and repairs

Stained Glass and "Tiffany-style" Lamp Design and Repairs. I developed an appreciation and eventually a passion, for stained glass whilst working as a carpenter for over 25 years. In a wide variety of buildings, mostly in the inner London area. This led to me enrolling on an Adult Educational Course in 1995 to learn the basic techniques used in the manufacture of stained glass windows. This in turn, led to me exploring the Tiffany technique used in making lamps etc. That was it, I was hooked!

Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. August 23, 2011. After all this traipsing around, we had planned to stay somewhere nice for the last few nights before heading back to the UK. We had booked at Sun Palace Cancun – an all-inclusive resort, with no kids allowed! It took us a long time of looking at costs, reviews on TripAdvisor, etc, before finally choosing this one, so fingers were crossed that we’d chosen well! We’ll sign off the travel blog with th...
