Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. Coba, Cenotes, Pizza and More Haggling. August 18, 2011. Today we travelled to the ancient city of Coba, set deep in the jungle. Having learnt from our mistakes timing-wise at Tulum, we arrived early to beat the crowds…. we were fairly successful, being the second car there! We hired two bikes, which at 35 pesos each (just under 2 quid! On the way back to Tulum we decided to take a detour to two cenotes. Choo-Ha was the first and the deserted, ...

Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. Last Day in Tulum. August 20, 2011. Sadly our travels are near an end, and we have to endure the hardship of 5 days relaxation at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun. As surprising as it may be, that really is a shame, Mexico has been good to us, the people crazy but welcoming, and the sites and towns fun, beautiful and intriguing. Location: Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. This entry was posted in Mexico.

Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: August 2011. August 23, 2011. After all this traipsing around, we had planned to stay somewhere nice for the last few nights before heading back to the UK. We had booked at Sun Palace Cancun – an all-inclusive resort, with no kids allowed! It took us a long time of looking at costs, reviews on TripAdvisor, etc, before finally choosing this one, so fingers were crossed that we’d chosen well! We’ll s...

Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. August 13, 2011. We woke early and decided to walk to the car rental location to pick up our transport for the next few days. The heat was intense and we were dripping wet by the time we got there and as we sat in the Hertz man’s lovely air conditioned room! We successfully navigated out way to Uxmal – about one hour drive away. We had to show ID’s and drivers license, except Stacey didn’t like ...Stacey br...

Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. Life’s A Beach. August 16, 2011. Our morning started by searching out some key items… where to find them was the question! We needed a holdall due to getting carried away with picking up souvenirs and gifts – our backpacks don’t expand enough. We also needed to get an underwater camera to take to the cenotes we’d be visiting and Xcaret biopark which we’re planning on going to. After that, we decided to have a truly relaxing day at the beach.

Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. Chichen Itza And The Drive To Tulum. August 15, 2011. The site is impressive, but restricted by zoned, roped off areas around the ruins. Still, the place was huge and great fun to explore and marvel at the sights. Adrian conveniently forgot his change of clothes, this may have been due to the reported water temperature. Stacey braved it, swimming out with countless fish, and other cold idiots. Picante means hot, and that stuff needed another word t...

Xcaret | America and Mexico
https://adrianclarke.wordpress.com/2011/08/18/xcaret
Adrian and Stacey go traveling! Skip to primary content. August 18, 2011. After much thought, we decided to visit Xcaret biopark (there were three similar parks to choose from, and we spent some time reading through reviews). We woke up at 6:30 am and set off to arrive at opening time. We got our Xcaret Plus wristbands and headed straight for the Underground Rivers. Life jackets, snorkels, masks and flippers were collected and put on, and we were off! The feeding of the sharks was entertaining – pe...
