Cycling Obsessions: July 2010
http://cyclingobsessions.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
An attempt to explain my love of cycling, bikes, people who ride, watching racing, etc. I'm sure I'm not alone here. Friday, July 23, 2010. Can't believe it's almost over. This Tour has been full of bad luck for some - Cadel Evans' broken elbow, Tyler Farrar's broken wrist, Frank Shleck's broken collarbone, to name a few. Some have abandoned, some have soldiered on. Chapeau to Cadel for hanging in there, and to the sprinters for making it over the Alps and the Pyrenees. Tough lads, they are. Until Monday...

Cycling Obsessions: Outside.
http://cyclingobsessions.blogspot.com/2011/02/outside.html
An attempt to explain my love of cycling, bikes, people who ride, watching racing, etc. I'm sure I'm not alone here. Sunday, February 13, 2011. Actually rode my bike outdoors yesterday, for the first time since New Year's Day. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Even riding in a group, with frequent stops, my breathless struggling to keep up, and people chattering either behind, in front, or beside me, it was still fun. How I have missed it. Cycling Obsessions: November 2010
http://cyclingobsessions.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
An attempt to explain my love of cycling, bikes, people who ride, watching racing, etc. I'm sure I'm not alone here. Saturday, November 27, 2010. Trusting an old friend. Thoughts invade my mind as I pedal, across TV Highway and onto River Road. Got the pump, spare tubes. I have my cell phone. Does anyone know where I'm going? I stop to talk to some pygmy goats along the road, who are bleating at me through the chainlink fence. They are incredibly cute! This is my Thanksgiving. Wednesday, November 3, 2010.

Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete: The Badger is Back
http://trigrrlsalmanac.blogspot.com/2011/04/badger-is-back.html
Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete. The Badger is Back. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. The Badger is Back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I haven't blogged in four months. I don't want to hear it. The Badger don't care. She had a lot of shit going on. Before I go much further, you should probably know where this Badger nickname originated. Readers, the reason why the interwebs were invented:. A workout regime for what? You ask. This was my exact question. Back to the nickname. I got to spend the weekend in the Dalles a...

Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete: Reality Check.
http://trigrrlsalmanac.blogspot.com/2010/08/reality-check.html
Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete. The Badger is Back. Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Sometimes we cross paths with people who are put in our path to give us a reality check. After sitting next to me on the MAX today, hopefully there is a guy in a BMW somewhere that realizes that his life isn't as bad as he thinks. Then back up to the oncologist's office. I'd never had my port accessed without numbing the area first, and upon the first attempt to insert the needle, understood why. Which brings me to the gu...

Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete: Accidental Semi-Fame.
http://trigrrlsalmanac.blogspot.com/2010/08/accidental-semi-fame.html
Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete. The Badger is Back. Friday, August 27, 2010. My high school basketball career ended on a sour note when we lost by one point in a playoff game because I had fouled someone who made both free throws as time was running out. I came back to basketball in law school and played on three straight intramural championship teams. I still obsessively follow college basketball, but haven't played since I broke my wrist in 2004. Last Saturday I rode the Crater Lake Metric Century ...

Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete: Revenge of the Skinsuit, And Other Stuff.
http://trigrrlsalmanac.blogspot.com/2010/10/revenge-of-skinsuit-and-other-stuff.html
Confessions of a Lapsed Triathlete. The Badger is Back. Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Revenge of the Skinsuit, And Other Stuff. And now, here I am, floating in a sea of "Now What? Here's "what," the bullet point version. Some adventures, some bike races and a lot of alone time. South Sister is much more of a trek than I had anticipated. Straight up for 7 miles. But the view at the top was totally worth it:. The reason that I have made this picture extra large is to point out that I am wearing the completely ...
